HA!  I hate myself now.  I've always been curious what the whole deal was with the "Flip Mod", so after reading your efforts, I figured I'd try it.  Well, same thing happened to me.  R came out fine, L came out with the wires.  Time for me to call UE.

Oh, and I use AirFoil to transmit audio to whatever computer I want.  Only really use it for music.  Video can be done using their player that adds an auto 2 second delay to the video to sync with the audio, but too much of a hassle.

I'd contact UE for warranty and get a replacement.  The cables are suppose to be replaceable, so what you have done should not have voided any warranty.  I'd say UE wouldn't fight over a replacement.

Looks like the low-end prices for Amazon at the moment are $205-240.  $200 direct from Logitech looks to be pretty good.   As for the cable of the batch that was sold for cheap, I have one and although I'm not fond of the cable, the quality is holding up so far.  In any case, cable is easy...
