Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: Yeah, I don't think the IE7s have any build quality issues! These things are built to withstand quite a lot of abuse, it seems.

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: You can get it from Amazon UK, but not from their own website.   http://www.amazon.co.uk/SquareTrade-3-Year-Warranty-Accident-Protection/dp/B00448KGUS/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1319899945&sr=8-7   And call me stingy but in my opinion it's not worth spending £10 to cover a...

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: In that case there's not much point in insuring them, since they won't give you a replacement and you'll be left without the IE7s. Do you have any idea whether mobile phone insurance that covers accessories can cover refurbished earphones?

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: If that's the case my IE7s might 'break' at some point in the future!  That said, I doubt these'll have any warranty beyond the one month faulty items return policy.

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: Have you tried using it from any other sources? Sometimes headphones do that if the contact between the plug and the socket isn't great, but it can also be a sign that the plug is faulty.   Edit: I think I remember my iPhone 4 doing something similar when I had it, though...

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: Play.com should be an official dealer, and I think FactoryRefurbsDir sells their grade B products. I've already received the headphones and as far as I can tell they're genuine so it doesn't really matter any longer whether the dealer's official.

Best ear tips for Sennheiser IE7's please!?

Quote: I'm not aware of anybody selling a genuine set of these in the UK and all of the international sellers charge a couple of pounds for delivery bringing the price to around £10, which if I'm honest seems fairly expensive for some pieces of silicone.

Best ear tips for Sennheiser IE7's please!?

Quote:   I see you've made a thread. I might actually order the ones you've linked as even if I don't like them they're only £1.79 and I'll be able to try both medium and large.

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: Argh!! If only I hadn't thrown away all of my V-Moda tips when I threw away the boxes.    Thanks for the tips anyway. And yes, the pun was intentional.

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: Sorry, I didn't read the description at the link you provided so looking at the picture I thought they were small.    I'm a medium/large eared person as well, but I've read that a loose fit can sound better with these earphones. Perhaps I should make a new thread specifically...

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: I think they come with the same tips as the ones you've linked to anyway. I don't actually have any S/M/L sized ones to compare them to though, so my guess might be wrong.   Currently I'm using the tips from my old earphones that are the harder silicone type, so I could do...

Genuine Sennheiser IE7 sold as refurbished on Play.com (UK only!) for £36.44. Note that it doesn't come with anything beside a pair of small silicone tips and the metal box.   http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/7970741/Sennheiser-IE7-Headphones/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=4

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: I don't have much experience with headphones (these are only my second pair of decent ones) but compared to my SW-Xcapes (it's said that these sound very similar to the RE0s, only with a little more bass) they're a lot more full sounding and less flat. As a result I'm enjoying...

Quote: Oh, and I just came across this: http://www.head-fi.org/t/375547/sennheiser-ie8-appreciation-thread/6585#post_6960012   That explains the lack of accessories, and it's an email straight from Sennheiser themselves it seems.

Quote: I think they're still selling returns of this: http://www.head-fi.org/t/513683/sennheiser-ie7/15 where they were selling them new for £80 :D   Seeing as I can live without a hoard of accessories, I think I got a good deal!

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: I have the S II, which has a vastly inferior Yamaha DAC. I wish I had a spare Galaxy S just for my music!   By the way the headphones arrived today. As far as I can tell from a visual perspective, they're genuine. The jack and splitter are both translucent grey plastic, and...

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

I do hope they're real! I'll be quite disappointed otherwise. What do you mean when you say 'farty'? :D Also, my current source is perhaps not the best (Galaxy S II) so do you think it would at all be worth investing in something like a Sansa Clip+ or would the difference be fairly minor?

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: The SW-Xcapes have a similar sound signature to the RE0s I believe, so although it'll be a step up it's not going to be huge.

Too good to be true? Sennheiser IE7 for £36.44

Quote: I'll almost certainly be able to get a refund if they're not genuine, so I'm not worried about losing my money, really. The seller has very good feedback.   I have Sunrise Audio SW-Xcape IEMs.
