[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

You can experiment by just trying out the tips that Fiio included. I find the vocal tips and spinfits the worst sounding ones in the bunch as they make the FH7 sound too bright. They also happen to have the smallest openings. The bass tips sound best out of the silicone tips and they have the...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I haven't tried them, but the size of the opening looks very restrictive and will likely exacerbate the sibilance like with the Fiio vocal tips (which it bares a striking resemblance to). Therefore, I wouldn't count on these sounding as good as the Spiral dots. I think as far as pure silicone...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

My favorite tips so far are the JVC Spiral Dot M and Dekoni bulletz smalls. The Spiral Dots sound similar to the bass tips that came with the Fiio, but maybe a bit more open due to its wider mouth. Dekoni's are very comfortable and seal better (obviously) and I can slip them in and out fairly...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I own both the Denon D2000 and Fostex TH600 and these FH7 does have many of the same qualities that I enjoy in those headphones in that they have a sweet V-shape sound signature with an impressive ability to handle bass smoothly with little to no distortion. The Denon/Fostex headphones do have a...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I actually kinda liked the included Fiio Memory Foam Tips but for some reason they gave us 2 of the medium sizes ones. I think i need one that is a little smaller. But anyways, i just remembered that I got in on the Drop for the Dekoni Bulletz; just gotta wait for them to ship in 2 weeks.

In terms of pure sound quality & performance its up there. But if you also figure in the look and build quality, then I would say yes.

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Its hard to pick because the black one sounds a bit more congested while easing the brightness, whereas the green ones sound more open but boosts the brightness to sibilant territory in some songs. It's a trade-off either way. I ended up sticking with the green one and EQing the edge off of the...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I was going back and forth between Symbio W and Spiral dots last week but settled on the Spiral dots because the shipping costs made the Symbio W too expensive due to international shipping. Plus the offiicial site for it was out of stock of the mediums and is currently down. Anyone know a US...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I was thinking about trying the JVC spiral dots as well. Can you tell me what spiral dot size i should get if the medium silicon tips that came with the FH7 fit me well? Also, if you knew a good place to get them online (for US), that'd be cool too. My other option was trying out the Symbio...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I'm torn between the foam tips and the bass tips. - Foam tips isolate better while reducing some brightness and gives great bass. - I like the sound of the bass tips but they dont isolate/seal as well. I prefer the feel and convenience of silicone tips. I want tips that will give me the best...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I'm not sure if this has already been discussed or not, but can anyone identify the brands of the tips that come with the FH7s? (aside from the Spinrites)

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I will say that the FH5 is noticeably more pronounced in the bass region for sure, but the FH7 is more controlled. For reference, my go-to "bass" headphones are my Fostex TH600 which have a more extreme v-shape sound, but still well controlled. The FH7 are a step below that with a more mild...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

No way are these light on bass. If you think the bass is light, then try a different tip such as the foam ones that came with it or the bass tips. I found that for the Spinrites, even though are one of the most comfortable silicone tips, they're also worst for bass because they have a poor...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

These tend to be sibilant on a lot of female-centric pop songs that I tend to listen to. Especially when you turn the volume up. Is there any kind of player or app that can dynamically adjust the EQ as you turn the volume up and down? It seems like that should be a thing. Anyways, i found the...

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

All discontinued. If you want one, you'll have to get it used or look at the Fostex TH-600 or TH-900 for their successors. TH-600 was also recently discontinued but there are some places u can still buy new.

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

Well then just put less dampening material.   Or try vinyl dampening; the peel and stick kind. Vinyl is lighter weight, so not as effective compared to something like Dynamat. Also has the side benefit of being easier to take off than sticky rubber/tar based solutions like Dynamat. Probably...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

Don't think you will have any issue with either.  My Fiio E17 drives them great and even my Nexus 5 phone can sufficiently drive them. The TH-600 are very efficient headphones as was the Denon predecessors.

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

The pads feel good, but i think the Denon pads were a bit softer and the foam was more squishy instead of open-cell foamy. Problem is after 2 months, there's already some fine strands of fiber showing through the earpads, which means the pleather is probably wearing out. I'm eventually going to...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

I'm looking forward to your findings. I think the liner i used may be a too restrictive. I finding myself missing some of that upper end treble already. Just sounds a little too dull now. I'm thinking my liner would better on the D2000 where sibilance is a real problem.

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

I just tried the shelf-liner mod and it made a difference. It really cuts down on the sibilance; especially the S's in vocals. It feels almost like a pop filter for headphones.   I am a little worried that the liner i used is a bit too restrictive though:     I can't really tell if there...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

I agree that the treble could be toned down a tad. That shelf-liner material sounds like it could do the trick. Seems like a simple enough mod.

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

So I take it you have never listened to any of the Denons or Fostex headphones then? That's a very important detail to know because they all share a very similar sound signature. Chances are, if you've liked any of them, then you will like them all. I have the D2000 and TH600. The sound...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

If you've actually listened Th-900 and didn't like it, then you won't like the TH600 either, and vice versa. Your comment didn't make clear whether you listened to it or simply read up about it.   In terms of harshness, it has a U shaped sound signature, so there is an edge to the treble for...
