JH/AK Janis
Still can't find it anywhere on their site. I wonder if this project was cancelled? Seems like they are due for a DSP based earphone after their early experiment with the JH3A.- stevenswall

Genelec monitors - what headphones sound like them?
An Etymotic with a tiny downward tilt, and more bass. The XR series perhaps. The Mc5 is very even sounding like my Genelec 8260 from a frequency response perspective besides sometimes bass being a little thin. That being said, it was my JH Audio Lola that let me to shopping for over a year for...- stevenswall

Are they more comfortable? Felt like having rocks in my ears and even though I sent them back a couple times to get redone, once I had them replace it with the universal, damn they were comfortable. Wish they did a softer material that could move and adapt... Moving my face at all broke the...- stevenswall

Moving on to speakers. Built a pair of HiVi DIY 3.1 speakers, and upgrading to a Genelec 8260 next month. If they are as good as the Lola (no audible issues to me, excellent extension) then I'd probably rather have a Rythmik sub which the Lola would help pay for. But yes, I love them, and don't...- stevenswall

For anyone curious: if you're spending money on a cable, there is a three band EQ module available to tune the treble and mids, as well as the bass. I had one made and it behaves as expected, though the cable was too "springy" and didn't stay looped over my ear. Hopefully at some point JH Audio...- stevenswall

Guess not. Apparently my ears are so bad in speaker forums that I can hear hiss where others can't. I'm just happy you have an upgrade path for everything via upgrading the cables. Don't forget the internal cables and circuits too!- stevenswall

I imagine the purpose of a resistor would be to veil and turn down the treble and mids... Not sure how else the treble or miss could be turned down without making it sound more veiled. It doesn't sound bright to me though by default, and any less treble would sound veiled I think, but to me...- stevenswall

There are already separate circuits for the lows, mids, and highs. I have a cable that can adjust each of them separately. JH Audio simply hasn't released one that does that yet. A seven pin cable would allow six way electrically isolated circuits that could be turned. Unfortunately, I don't...- stevenswall

Introducing LUNA by DUNU, the world's first pure beryllium rolled foil diaphragm flagship dynamic in-ear! (Page 18: Loan Tour Announcement)
Yeah, I wish more companies used the four pin connectors JH Audio uses... Tunable bass is nice. Technically they could also do three way tuning or have an active crossover and DSP correct for each circuit/set of frequencies if everyone started using that.- stevenswall

It's expensive... But you'd be looking at a nearfield setup of $7,000 plus some sound treatment to approach flagship IEM performance.- stevenswall

The nice transition from bass to midbass and midrange in Tron Legacy, Solar Sailor sealed the deal for me with the Lola. That and "Down to the River to Pray" having just the right vocal quality. It reminded me of the Etymotic Mc5 vs HF5, and I liked the cheaper, dynamic driver one specifically...- stevenswall

Radsone EarStudio ES100
I appreciated that... Can't stand when reviews, often with phone ROMs don't go through ALL of the camera, multitasking, video, audio, and settings options, or show the multitasking menu. Call it an "overview" or an "introduction" if it's not going over the unique features. The 1 ohm or .5 ohm...- stevenswall

How would you define and measure those? Detail wise, I'd say lack of ringing and good impulse response. I think most modern drivers are transparent to the human ear when it comes to this. (In a blind test one couldn't accurately note the difference.) Soundstage wise IEMS seem like the vary...- stevenswall

No, as those don't go down low enough, minimize diffraction, control their directivity, or have an active crossover. The three I'm looking at are the Dutch & Dutch 8C, Genelec 8260, and Kii Three. Already tried multiple speakers from $250 sale on a pair of JBL LSR308/speakers, a used pair of...- stevenswall

Adjustable bass, so there's more or less aligned of it, less scooped mids (TripleFi didn't seem too bad with that, though a bit of a U) and on "Circle of Life" my Lola doesn't have the annoying treble peak that made me get rid of the TF10 when the tinkling sound during the latter part of that...- stevenswall

Back in 2017 I tried the 64 Audio, and Ultimate Ears flagships, as well as all of the JH Audio earphones. I have an aftermarket cable that changes the sound and can be measured and tested. It has a three band EQ for each ear. $200... Garbage quality though it works if you don't need it to stay on. Stay away from YY Pro Audio.- stevenswall

The first aftermarket cable I've purchased, and the only one I know of that fully utilizes the 4 pin Jerry Harvey Audio connector: One connector for ground, then three separate connectors for lows, mids, and highs.
