If I add another driver to my Shure SE530's it's going to be a tweeter for the 5KHZ range and up while the existent tweeter can handle the midrange.

It could just be those specific songs were not mastered correctly and the Ety's are showing the flaws. I get this all the time with my earphones. Even if the song is encoded in FLAC straight from a CD it still may have some shrillness, sibilance or blown bass while some other songs even in MP3...

I don't understand, I can listen to my music in a dark room and keep my eyes open and try to image a soundstage as the song plays away and stay wide awake. When I do this with my eyes closed I end up drifting off to sleep. Does the eyelids trigger something?

Yes the Shure SE530's need an EQ to shine. When I EQ the Shure SE530's I simply lower the bass and midrange volume so the treble can blossom. This results in a more balanced and natural sound that to my ears beats the Westone 3. Too bad the Zune doesn't have a EQ. The Shure SE530's sound very...
