OK You've Got an 007 or Other High-Priced Cans. What Do You Listen to When You Are "Slumming?"
Nowadays, my Westone UM3X gets the most use when I'm away from the desk. To be honest though, I can get by with pretty much anything that makes noise including iPod buds and my netbook's built in speakers.- Quadrangulum

To the cable non-believers...
I don't believe in cables at all (based on my own, however brief, experiences) but reports like this intrigue me and make me want to do more investigation in my own system.- Quadrangulum

Best looking tube amp
My favorite in the looks department has always been this beauty from Leben. If I had speakers that warranted such a beast, I would audition this first.- Quadrangulum

Amarra - anyone using it?
The Mini version sounds like it's going to be a steal. I'd lose my complete version in favor of it if I didn't have so many Reference Recordings HRx files.- Quadrangulum

Amarra - anyone using it?
I see it still hasn't been mentioned but about two weeks ago, Sonic Studio released the 1.0.1 Amarra revision which updated the UI. Here's a picture of my desktop running it. Also, more news on 1.1 which will bring the FLAC and ALAC support. Quote: Amarra 1.1 - Next Release We...- Quadrangulum

Most overrated and most underrated headphones
One of the most overrated is the Denon AH-D5000 about two years ago. It was a thoroughly adequate phone ballyhooed into a great giant killer. The hype suckered me in unfortunately when I should have saved the cash for some of the upgrades I made straight away after getting exposure to more kinds...- Quadrangulum

Audio-gd Dynamo D350 Power Regenerator
Are there any theoretical benefits to this versus the Power Plant? It almost reads as if you mention not using digital technology as a feature of sorts. -

now cant decide tv or pc monitor
My experience is that a $500 IPS Monitor will smoke any equivalently priced television in terms of performance but it depends entirely on your application and how far you would be sitting.- Quadrangulum

connect ps3 to amplifier headphone?
A while back, I had to store my system away and was forced to use the PS3 as a music player. I hope I never have to do that again; it's a very sub par performer. Use an outboard DAC if you can swing it. If not though, the included composite and the optional component cables will give you what... -
