how did you eq it out? im not very good at eqing...anything. Also anyone know if the westone um2s are sibilant?

well my se210s had the problem so bad i had to sale them and now my dt 990s (from 12 years ago) had it with one track, but im listening to my morning jacket-evil urges and i dont have a problem

Like when an vocalist sings "take me to the stairs" take and stairs come off very...sharp is the only way i can describe it, very very painful to my ears.

Im deciding between the shure 530 and the sennheiser 595s with a solorez recable

I dont have alot of money to start a super rig so i just want to get some nice cans and a little portable DIY amp for around 200 all together. Maybe more if i can get parts used. I like to sit back and listen to music with my eyes closed for most rock a.k.a pink floyd but also like a nice bass...

I downloaded my first .flac cd, porcupine tree - deadwing, it sounds great on my terrible speakers that came with my pc, but im hoping to hear them via my dt 990s im getting tomorrow.

What were you guys faves, and if you got time, why?

Im not a big fan of Mac products or anything but what i had a out of warranty ipod they replaced it for free just because i said i like fight club...

you could just rip your cds with mediamonkey i believe its called, rips to .flac, and then convert those to mp3. Or download songbird if you need a itunes alternative that plays .flac

so i auditioned the hd600s today, and then recabled them with stock hd650s cables and i have to say they were less bright, easier to listen to, and easily the best cans i have ever listened to. This is after listening to the 650s, which in my opinion have a worst soundstage.

As a bass lover, and it will hurt me to say this, pick up some bose triports at best buy...or a used pair of beyerdynamic 770s pro 80ohm used from head-fi "sale" forum.

i only can audition the 770s and grado 225s. if you could compare the sound sigs between those 2 and the other 2 that would be sick. Im leaning towards the 701s and the cmon amp. As a reviewer said 701s with the amp sound sick.
