If I buy a PS audio power punch c7 cord upgrade does it need to be plugged into a power conditioner or will either a wall socket or the 2 surge protectors that I have(Tripp-Lite isobar Ultra and Monster Cable HTS 1000 mk3) work.

Right now I'm using the stock interconnects that came with my equipment. What would be the best interconnects out of the kimber PBJ, Audioquest Copperhead or the van den hul name or D-300 Mk 3 hybrid? What are some other interconnects in the $100 range?

True it's cheaper but at what cost. I want to use something backed by a manufacturer claim that it's safe to use on optical cables so I don't void my warranties. I would buy the solution but for the price I can almost buy a new cable if it breaks.

My Optocoupler mk2 is stiff when inserting. Van Del Hul recommends their "the solution" for lubing it. I was wondering what alternative "lubes" there are besides The solution for my optical cable.

I had the Itunes volume on the first audible notch and I could crank the amp volume right up. I can't turn the amp up past the first notch now with the Itunes volume slider cranked but it sounds better. I guess this applies to the volume slider in the application Call of Duty 4 for best sound...

If I'm running the optical out from an imac to dac to headphone amp using Itunes, is the slider volume control in Itunes considered a preamp?

Hi Does a USB-S/PDIF converter offer better sound than running a dac from the optical out of the current Imac(mid 2008)?

Quick question: is a cheap transport ($20+) or a HagUsb an upgrade to a stock imac sound card when used as a transport? I'm trying to decide if there's any benefit to running a transport other than my sound card to my DAC for better music and gaming.
