Beyerdynamic DT 250 vs Beyerdynamic DT 770 vs Sennheiser HD 380 Pro
Thanks a lot for the replies guys, I love this forum. You guys are helpful as ever. I didn't get any comments regarding the sennheiser so I guess I should cross that out. I've also realised that the 250 is better than the 770 which is probably more of a monitoring headphone than a musical...- Shexbex

Beyerdynamic DT 250 vs Beyerdynamic DT 770 vs Sennheiser HD 380 Pro
They're all in the same price range. I normally use my grado 225s for home listening but I need closed cans for when I'm not at home. I listen to music like porcupine tree, the mars volta, etc. which is quite difficult because it gets quite heavy/aggressive at times but there are also these...- Shexbex

Trying to switch from MP3 Audio to CD Audio
I really don't see the point of this little mini argument right now. I believe my question was fairly simple; which is the best out of the current pcdps being sold?- Shexbex

Trying to switch from MP3 Audio to CD Audio
Thanks a lot for the replies. I have thought about just pimping out my mp3 player instead of buying CDs but one of the reasons I want to switch to a pcdp besides the quality is because before i switched to digital audio i would buy less CDs and listen to each other more; it was about getting...- Shexbex

Trying to switch from MP3 Audio to CD Audio
Thank you very much for getting me started. I'll probably eventually go down that route, splurging on a DAC and an AMP (although I already have my bithead, but i may opt for something smaller). It's really weird to see how good pcdps are so hard to find. I'm finding a lot of sony's and...- Shexbex

Trying to switch from MP3 Audio to CD Audio
I used to purchase music using itunes and then I'd listen to it on my computer through a total bithead and my grado 225s when I'm at home, but I'd use an Ipod and a pair of Beyerdynamic 250 headphones when I'm outside, which constitutes for most of my music listening time. I have listened to...- Shexbex

Does the Micro DAC come with it's USB cable?
Thanks a lot man. I've seen this before but for some reason I assumed it would come included haha. Guess it's another 10$ off the wallet. Haha this is getting ridiculous. My poor, poor wallet- Shexbex

Does the Micro DAC come with it's USB cable?
I know very little about cabling, and my English isn't particularly great so I can't really get my point across very well, but I'm buying the Headroom Micro DAC and I'm wondering if I need to buy any extra cables for it. I'm also buying the Micro Amplifier, and I know i'll need a 1/8th to 1/8th...- Shexbex

For Grado SR-225, is the price jump between getting a Total Bithead and a Headroom Micro DAC/Amp justified?
I've only just bought a pair of Grado 225s and they're my first proper headphones. They sound much better than anything I've ever heard, but I know I can do even better by getting a DAC and an amplifier. I'm very close to buying the Total Bithead, because I use my computer as a source but I...- Shexbex

Could be a dumb question, but can I use my grado 225 with a guitar amplifier?
Oh, so I guess it isn't a very good idea then. Guess my guitar amp shouldn't be used for for headphone related stuff then.. Thanks man!- Shexbex

Budget laptop audiophile question.
I have Grado 225 headphones and I play them off my Dell's soundcard. It sounds good, but not amazing. I have about 200$ to spend on improving the sound of my headphones. I have absolutely no idea what would be better for me. Should I buy a headphone amp? A better external usb soundcard? I could...- Shexbex

Could be a dumb question, but can I use my grado 225 with a guitar amplifier?
I have the Grado 225s and while they sound really good from my laptop (And I mean that in a relative sense since these are my first headphones that cost more than 10$), I feel like they could sound truely epic with a guitar amp. I'm getting a Roland Microcube ampflier in a few days and I want to...- Shexbex

Looking for Grado 225s, living in the uk
For some absurd reason, Grados cost twice as much in europe as they do in the US. I've been wanting to buy Grado 225s for a long time, and I saw this deal on ebay that would ship to the uk but it got taken off the day I got my credit card. Can someone help me out? I'm not looking to spend...- Shexbex

to Gravity Eyelids (great song), I happen to listen to Infected Mushroom and the like too, hence I was kinda worried about the loss of soundscape of the Grados. HOWEVER I feel like I'm almost sold on these if you say they're good for mellow music.- Shexbex

I listen to music like Porcupine Tree and the Mars Volta
The grado sorta looks like a killer deal but I'm afriad they wont be adequate for like, the mellower songs I listen to (like PT- collapse the light into earth). Can anyone comment on that? You just scared me with the "odd treble" thing. Oh I'd like to add that I'm going to be playing...- Shexbex

I listen to music like Porcupine Tree and the Mars Volta
Anyone? Sorry I'm purchasing this soon. So now it's between the following: Ultrasone 780s The better of Denon D2000 and DNHP1000 Grado 225s The bass of the Denons looks very impressive, but I'm wondering, will it be much worse when it comes to like TMV and PT compared to the Ultrasone?- Shexbex

I listen to music like Porcupine Tree and the Mars Volta
I loved FtM, thought Amputecture was a good but slightly worse than their previous recordings, and don't get me started on Goliath. Anyway, thank you for the quick replies guys, but I'm kinda stuck right now. The Denon you mentioned looks like a great deal. I've also found the D2000 within my...- Shexbex

I listen to music like Porcupine Tree and the Mars Volta
as well as Post-Rock, Radiohead, heavy metal, and occasionally trance/shallow hiphop. If my budget is 200 dollars, what are the best headphones I can get? If headphones that are good for rock and headphones that are good for "boom boom" techno/hiphop music are mutually exclusive, then forget...- Shexbex
