Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Hey guys, Just wanted to share that I have a Smyth Realiser I'm looking to let go off, to give someone else the opportunity of experiencing it. It's a fantastic piece of equipment, but alas, I have not the time to fully learn how to maximize it being in a startup. My post can be found...- Jon-LF

It's definitely perfect for me, the Svetlana W3k combo. I've been guilty of not coming back for months because I've found headphone nirvana. Back to sell my Smyth Realiser lol. I feel like I've been skiving lol.- Jon-LF

The Audio Technica W3000ANV Thread
I've noticed a few of your posts "The 3000anvs are easy to drive", as well as this one. I've always felt the Th900s were more musical than the 3000anvs, at least till I found the right amp pairing for it. I don't actually think the 3000anvs are easy to drive (optimally). They play...- Jon-LF

The Audio Technica W3000ANV Thread
I agree with this description completely. The LCDs are great all rounders and I think many can live with them as their "one and only" headphones. I don't think I would go that direction however as I feel it kind of holds a middle ground so to speak.... I love the w3000anvs smoothness and flavor...- Jon-LF

The Audio Technica W3000ANV Thread
It's exactly what I was looking for. Truly, quite hard to match. I've got quite a few flavors due to all the gear I own, but the w3000anv chain best them all to me, in crushing fashion. If I had 1 headphone for a portable, it would be my Fiio X3 -> ESW11LTDs, but if I had 1 Headphone for my...- Jon-LF

Hey Daigo, cheers on the post. A month or two ago I was looking for a "perfect match" for the W3000anvs and I remember you recommended the Elekit and saying the Woo was a decent fit. I was really lucky to find a Svetlana 2 from a fellow Headfier to get auditioned here in Singapore. I...- Jon-LF

Naim DAC-V1 vs...
I would be inclined to disagree and agree on a few points. The Naim is definitely musical and the Fostex sounds fantastic with the Fostex 900. The issue is it can't drive ANY of the higher impedance headphones. My Hd700s just died on it. I would say I loved the Fostex combo but I subjectively...- Jon-LF

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
That's possibly true. They sounded flat to my ears, again due to the amp it was bundled with - not my home setup. I suspect it's a largely neutral headphone, with very good specs. There is an amp, t1 bundle here in singapore for some 700 uSd new just FYI :) The amps not worth jack though :(- Jon-LF

I didn't like the T1 when I tried it but I think it's the amp combo. I think the 700s are incredibly exciting.- Jon-LF

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
I wouldn't say inevitable, many would never want to invest the required $$$ to get the "best" out of the 800s. I maintain that I (subjectively) prefer the sound out of the 700s out of most sources, but now that I have a solid amp/ dac combination which (to my ears) outclasses the 700s on the...- Jon-LF

Hmm this will be interesting to audition. I would suspect the esw11ltds to have more full bodied bass (because they are closed). I'm looking forward to hearing your combo next week!- Jon-LF

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Hmm that seems to be the general consensus, I've been asking around. I found the "limited edition" information from David Mehlers post on 52 top flagship headphones. The 800s can be had at a bargain these days, because there are so many of them. I've seen some traded for 900 USD, amazing price...- Jon-LF

So I've come to a decision that I'll be buying the HD800s. Does anyone know where I can buy the limited edition blacks? I will keep the 700s because they don't have high resale value. I think I can quite easily use it as my secondary headphone with my Smyth Realiser (the realiser with an...- Jon-LF

Naim DAC-V1 vs...
I got my Naim Dac V1 for about 1.5k USD. It was a bargain for the what it was and it mated very well with my HD700/800s. That being said I think it's a much better DAC than amp, as I've only recently had the opportunity of finding out.- Jon-LF

I picked up the ADL Svetlana 2 over the weekend. It's synergy with the W3000ANVs, are magical. I have never heard presence and body quite like that from the phones, and it's simbilance is all but removed. All the magic, more full bodied, less simbilance. Synergy is amazing. Yes, welcome...- Jon-LF

I think the 700s does benefit from amping, just that it's far less picky on the amping. It sounds great out of my Naim, better than I've heard anywhere before. You'll need power for dynamic music especially (Batman comes to mind) and it's an amazing headphone in many ways. It's only downside is...- Jon-LF

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
I've finally had the pleasure of listening to the HD800 on a proper amp. We spent about 7 hours with the ADL Svetlana Amp, Naim DAC/ Amp, Benchmark DAC as well as the Smyth Realiser. I've always been skeptical of DACs affecting the sound signature, and I was absolutely surprised with what I...- Jon-LF
