Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Per the FAQ: Do the tubes need to be matched? The two input tubes, yes. The 8 output tubes, nope.- JohnBal

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)
I had been holding out for a used Rag, but I found a used Wyred 4 Sound DAC2V2 SE for a pretty good price, so I jumped on it. So far really happy. Have not compared it to any Schiit though. But it has really transformed my system in a good way.- JohnBal

I have found the Sylvania tubes to generally sound more extended than some others - if by SS tube that is what you are referring to.- JohnBal

Oh, that Cary is a gem. I bought one new back in the day and I regret letting it go. They are hard to find now. If I ever see one in good shape, I'm gonna jump on that one to get my clutches on again.- JohnBal

I would unplug it for a while then plug it back in and power up and see if it continues. If so, you may want to contact Schiit.- JohnBal

Schiit Lyr 3 Tube rolling thread.....
I'll second those Raytheon. They were my favorite until I went to the small 12at7 and/or 12au7 using adapters. I don't use 6SN7 any longer.- JohnBal

Lyr 3 - The new Coherence™ and Continuity™ hybrid amplifier from Schiit - Impression & discussion thread
This is the one I bought. But they can be found from various sources. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1pc-Gold-plated-12AU7-12AX7-to-instead-6SL7-6SN7-tube-converter-adapter-/201320842633?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0- JohnBal

Lyr 3 - The new Coherence™ and Continuity™ hybrid amplifier from Schiit - Impression & discussion thread
Yes. Totally agree. I would also add early RFT 12au7 and 12at7, and Siemens E81CC which is a 12at7 type. To me, these are all better than any 6sn7 I have tried.- JohnBal

Lyr 3 - The new Coherence™ and Continuity™ hybrid amplifier from Schiit - Impression & discussion thread
I have also have very good results using, with the proper adapter, 12au7 and 12at7 tube types. There really is a lot of options with this amp. YMMV- JohnBal

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I use it mostly for speakers and have it in my equipment rack. The power switch is rather inconveniently placed, so I leave it powered up all the time. Have had no issues.- JohnBal

Schiit Mjolnir 2 Listening Impressions
Wes S your feelings on your RFT are eerily similar to my feelings on my different build RFT. The extended high end of yours piques my interest. I ordered a couple of the ones you have for my Lyr to compare with mine. This will be fun. Thanks for the tip!- JohnBal

Schiit Mjolnir 2 Listening Impressions
I have used these RFT rebranded for Tesla and love them. Right up near the top for me. The only thing with them is the top end is a hint softer than some others, which may or may not be a good thing for you depending on your system. But I found the bass on them to hit as hard as anything I have...- JohnBal

Lyr 3 - The new Coherence™ and Continuity™ hybrid amplifier from Schiit - Impression & discussion thread
If it's brand new, I would give it at least 50 hours to run in. At least. The tube, caps etc need time to settle in. Enjoy the process in the mean time. It is a great amp. Better tubes reveal themselves well with the Lyr 3.- JohnBal

Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier
My new Rag 2 has been cooking for a week and a half now. I use this primarily as a speaker amp connected to my Thiel CS 1.5. I believe the reviews that stated the Rag is bass shy are a bit off bass - pardon the pun. Prior to the Rag 2, I had been using a Krell S300i integrated amp. The time came...- JohnBal

Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier
I just received my Rag last week and I agree. It makes no sense. The Rag 2 has been called much more of a speaker amp than Rag 1, but yet concessions are still made to a bizarre and small segment that must have begged for this function. I can only believe that the next version will have a more...- JohnBal
