burn-in for earbuds vs full-size phones
Hey folks just wondering would the burn in time be the same for earbuds as it would for full size headphones... For instance is the burn-in for the Senn MX500 the same as the HD600 ? I've heard that the HD600 could take 50 hours... How long do earbuds take to burn-in or do they even requiring...- Mr.T

Will a good source make a difference ?
Ok, I've been hearing Marantz is a warm sounding CD Player and it could go good together with my Yamaha Interested in : FIRST CHOICE: Marantz CC3000 or Marantz CC4000 (The 3000 is getting better reviews and is about $150 cheaper) SECOND CHOICE: Yamaha CDC-775 (This gets good reviews and...- Mr.T

Will a good source make a difference ?
Ok for those who are wondering I have a cheap pioneer cd player... I don't know whether it's warm sounding or not... If the Yamaha Receivers are known to be a little bright then my system seems to sound neutral.- Mr.T

Will a good source make a difference ?
Why is my Amp and/or Speakers like a string... I didn't think it was too bad kind of like Mid-Fi.. I think a $2K linn would be a huge step-up but I wouldn't be using it to it's full potential so It's probably not worth it.- Mr.T

Will a good source make a difference ?
Thanks for the suggestions folks --- also BoardC3.. Yes very true but I consider my amp and speakers to be no more than Mid-Fi and thought that if a had REALLY high quality amp and speakers that going from a $100 Sony to $600 Nakamichi would make a HUGE difference... But with my system I was...- Mr.T

CD Player (SOURCE) difference ?
Well, I've decided I'm definitely going to upgrade my source sometime.. I'm eyeing the Yamaha CDC775 (5 disc changer) but it's around $300 I think... I don't want to go over $500 U.S. Is there anything better for a 5 disc changer than the Yamaha CDC775 that is under $500.- Mr.T

CD Player (SOURCE) difference ?
Ok, example here how important is the source in getting quality sound to your headphones... For instance ignoring the prices and just looking at the CD Players would it make a huge difference in whether a set of HD600's is hooked up to a $79 RCA 5 disc changer or a $2000 LINN CD Player. HD495 v HD590
Hi David, I can't really comment on the HD495's as I don't have them or heard them.. I do own the HD590's I am happy with them.. The only disadvantage of my HD590's is they leak a lot of sound.. So I don't recommend you get them if you are going to play in public.. If you are listening in a...- Mr.T

a headphones lifespan?
So I could play a set of headphones for 10000 hours and they will sound the same as if I played them after 100 hours ??? I know brand new headphones sound slightly different than a pair that had a 100 hours on them. I thought if you were to play headphones for 24 hours a day for 3 years...- Mr.T

Songs that really sound great on good headphones, tell me!
Smash Mouth - Walking on the sun Offspring - Original Prankster Beastie Boys - Slow Ride For Bass: The part right after the Solo in AC/DC's Sin City just crank it up then you hear an awesome Bass Riff then after that with Bon yelling "FINGER'S FREDDY" man that's a cool part. -
HD580 and HD590 No difference in sound
Ok I suppose if you have a really good amp and source you can tell a difference in sound but I've had the HD-580's (Which I heard two weeks ago for the last time so I can't do a direct comparison switching back and forth) But to me with my Mid-Fi source and amp (Yamaha Receiver and Yamaha CD...- Mr.T

Senn 580's done already (after 2 weeks)
Well after 2 weeks of regular use my HD 580's one side I get no sound at all.. I suspect after changing the wires that it is a cable problem.. Note: I never even touch the cables (i.e. moved them in or out during the 2 weeks I had them) I pad $200 for these and now I get sound out of one ear I...- Mr.T

Where should bass and treble be set
Where do you folks keep your bass and treble and your receiver when using headphones .... If Bass goes from 0-10 and treble 0-10... Does leaving it on 5 and 5 seem logical... What reason would there be to have it different... Would 10 and 10 be hard on the headphones or would they take it in the...- Mr.T
