Ok, what CD Player fits my system the best for sound quality (NOTE: CD Player must be under $500 U.S.)

I have a Yamaha RX396 Receiver (50 Min. Watts x 2)
and my Headphones are Sennheiser HD590

I was debated on getting the Yamaha CDC-775 or the Sony SCD-CE775.. Any other suggestions ?

Thanks for any input.

Perhaps you should look into a used Rega Planet 2000 or the Musical Fidelity A3 CD players. They retail new for about a grand, but you could probably get them for $500 on the used market. I would also get a headphone amp and bypass your Yamaha receiver. I'm very happy with Creek OBH-11 which I got for $150. I think that the headphone amp and a decent CD player will do wonders with your headphones.

well i am not an expert on cd players...but

i have an nad 541

i listened to a couple of different ones at the $500 level and i liked the nad.

i also got a really great deal on one from ebay, via a dealer who turned out to be local. in the end i paid $350

not terribly scientific, not the usual sort of review about how one model had a "distinctly crisp and fresh sound" while the other "didn't live up to my expectations with progressive jazz but it was splended with classical"

the nad just sounded really good to me!
