Koss Pro DJ200 or Pro4s or others?
I've always liked Koss after owning a couple of Porta Pros. For analytical listening they are not amazing, but they really are portable pros. When walking or out and about I've never found I've missed anything. I've found in those situations I can't take in too much detail anyway, I don't need...- MartinB

Open back/non isolated iem or earbud?
Thanks! Will check them out. Also forgot to mention that price range isn't that important. Portable open headphones might also be interesting, if they're really compact and lightweight.- MartinB

Open back/non isolated iem or earbud?
Are there any open back or non isolated in ear headphones out there? Earbuds can also be of interest, but they seem rare these days. I've had the MDR-E888LP as well as AKG earbuds in the past and now I'm replacing a pair of B&O Earset 3i that I've lost. I also had the Etymotic ER4 and they...- MartinB

Good earbuds with mic?
I'm looking for a pair of good earbuds (not IEMs) with mic. I've been looking at B&O EarSet 3i and allthough maybe a bit overpriced they're stylish, seem ergonomic, has a mic and comes with a three year warranty. Do you have any other suggestions? My main headphones are Grado HF-2 and I like...- MartinB

MS1i comfort
I'd try HD414 pads (very comfortable!) and if you can afford it, I would get one of these JMoney Audio- MartinB

Sometimes simple can be so good
Actually I'm sitting right now and listening to them through my soundcard. Sounds pretty damn good! What I like most about them is the comfort and that they let me focus on the music.- MartinB

SR80i and SR125i voiced for comfies?
wallace, I wondered if they are voiced/made to work better with comfies. Maybe not a whole lot of people who knows except Grado themselves. I've had SR225 and RS1 in the past and I don't think RS1 sounds a whole lot better, but rather different.- MartinB

SR80i and SR125i voiced for comfies?
I'm thinking of getting a pair of Grados again. I've always loved the sound, but I've never been a huge fan of the bowl pads sound or comfort wise. Flat pads are better, but still not very comfortable and still a bit too bright. For me I've gotten perfect balance with HD414 or comfort pads. So...- MartinB

AKG K 319 impressions
So a small update.. I'd say that these are unlistenable without foams. Way too thin and bright sounding. However a tip is to replace the stock foams with thinner ones. Really improves the treble and detail which I feel is a little bit closed in with the stock ones. I also get a better fit in my...- MartinB

opinions on the DT770 '05 600 ohm?
So I'm thinking of getting a pair of Manufaktur DT770's for low level listening. Is leather pads and 600 ohm the way to go? Currently I use the Digidesign Mbox 2 Micro and yet small it's pretty powerful and has a good headphone out. I would really appreciate some help here!- MartinB

Best cans for low level listening?
I don't have a spl meter, but I've been thinking of getting one. I'm careful not to listen at too high levels anymore and I usually do that by turning the volume up to a level that is normal-high and after that turning down a bit, 5-10db. My issue is with the headphones. The K 271's, while...- MartinB

Drake, If you're listening too high over a prolonged period of time, headphones might be the reason. We tend to listen at too high levels.- MartinB

Thanks for all the suggestions. Seems like there's a lot of praise for the D7000 and GS-1000. What about the DT770?- MartinB

Best cans for low level listening?
Thanks for all the input. Some very expensive alternatives. Except for the DT48, anything else? I owned the RS-1 in the past and loved it. I think it was a decent headphone for low level listening. At least it's treble was, maybe not the bass. Is the RS-1i different in this department if using...- MartinB

Best cans for low level listening?
I've started to care more about preserving my hearing. I've used loudness curves with my K271's, but I think it could sound better then it does. I've understood that the Grado GS1000's are among the best headphones for low level listening and also maybe the Beyerdynamic DT770's if you are after...- MartinB

AKG K 319 impressions
So far they're great! I'm getting the feeling that these has been made to the standard to be good enough even for monitoring and professional use. Might be the same driver in the Senns, but the K 319 is quite a lot more expensive in Sweden at least. I agree it's good to see all these great...- MartinB

AKG K 319 impressions
kjk1281, I feel it's hard to compare it to the E888LP as I think the K 319 seems that much better. Comparing to a pair of full size headphones is also hard. Two different things really, no mather what your preference is. But I have to say that it reminds me a bit of the K271. What I'm...- MartinB

AKG K 319 impressions
I have just been listening for about an hour or two today and they might need more burn-in like most headphones do. I'm just posting some short impressions. I really prefer to evaluate gear over time and not get too analytical about it. If I still enjoy something or don't find any major flaws...- MartinB

AKG K 319 impressions
My K 319 arrived today. I can't say much about the sound yet, but the packaging looks nice with a nice case for the earbuds. There's a volume control on the cable which is nice. The K 319 comes with a short 0.5m cable and a 0.5m extension. For home use I think I'll want something slightly...- MartinB

Best e/phone for ipod (replacing sony 888Lp's)
dicy, The AKG K 319, allthough cheaper than 100 GBP could be it. I'm hoping they will be a real upgrade from the e888lp. Otherwise maybe some Yuin earbuds could also be a solution.- MartinB
