Headphones with a deceptive impedance rating
you should read more on "sensitivity", that's the term you are lacking on, impedance is not everything... Quote:- Allforheather

What kind of music is popular with Audiophile Headphones?
anything really, it doesn't really matter what kind of music you listen to, a good headphone will always provide the extra you need to achieve a better sound. However, well recorded music are definitely preferred, some albums production quality is just too bad.- Allforheather

Best cans for hip hop?

Best over-ear closed headphones under 300
Tyll just did a review on the k550 on InnerFidelity, the main comparison is focusing on the k550 to the D2000, worth a look.- Allforheather

Grado RS2 vs 325is
Quote: Personally, I think the 325s do a better job at defining the grado sound than the rs2s. ha, well, personal opinion anyway. if you can't find a dealer in chicago, why not just try to buy them off an online dealer to demo, and return them if you don't like them.- Allforheather

Grado RS2 vs 325is
the only difference of the rs2 and rs2i is a sticker on the box they come with. I don't consider the rs2 is a direct upgrade to the 325s, but the rs2s are the most relax grado I've ever heard, and I've heard the entire prestige lineup, the rs1, and I also own the rs2s. I would suggest you...- Allforheather

Help on vinyl with HD 800 (Sold the AKG Q701)
Btw, how's the Roksan Radius 5?? they got quite cheap these days, I'm thinking about getting myself one. they are like 549 pounds in the UK, which comparing to its original price of 1449, sounds too good to be true.- Allforheather

Help on vinyl with HD 800 (Sold the AKG Q701)
you need a new pair of headphones for your vinyl. I'm happy with the 701 with vinyl, it sounds not too much different from the digital versions besides all the expected improvements and faults. From my own experience, vinyl is the most enjoyable with a pair of headphone when it is damn clean...- Allforheather

moving on to better things.
bad idea auditioning those lcd2s....your wallet certainly won't appreciate that. anyway back to the main topic, considering your budget is actually quite high and the music you listen to. I would recommend you to find your self a pair of Grado, 325s and rs2s are great cans within that...- Allforheather

Dr.Dre Noise Cancelling Vs Bose Noise Cancelling
Quote: .....that's strange, Bose's ANC technology is considered to be better than Beats (almost all other company's ANC should be better than beats), and the QC15s are very very comfortable.... Sound quality aside (ANC cans, crappy anyway), QC15 is probably one of the best ANC cans...- Allforheather

I want 1 akg and 1 grado: have to chose which one opened.
Quote: Semi-open phones such as K240 and dt880, their chamber is not entirely open like a 701 or dt990, yet is not closed like a d2000 or dt770. They are still ventilated letting some of the sound to pass through. Sometimes it is a matter of design preference, and some people...- Allforheather

Should I sell my Beats Pro for AKG701?
Quote: I would agree with you about the 701 sounding tremendous on some of the rock sub-genres, and its lighter base impact and rather smooth and spacious presentation is not going to win everybody heart when the drums and guitars decided to hit hard. I would recommend them to...- Allforheather

Should I sell my Beats Pro for AKG701?
if you primarily listen to rock, don't get the 701, it's not going to amaze you. 701s can do wonders in a lot of other genres, rock is not one of them. I bought myself a rs2 for that precise reason.- Allforheather
