Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
I've got the older ad2k and it is amp picky IMO. It sounded good out of the CTH i had but it was hard to find a tube that wasn't noisy on the ad2k. The p-51 from RSA sounds the best of what i've tried (CTH with multiple tubes, Objective 2, headphone out of the HK3490 receiver at home, all fed by...- mmayer167

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
Just checking back in. After a few weeks with the AD2000 and the AD900x it is safe to say the ad900x will be finding a new home soon. The difference is not huge but I like the AD2000 more. I guess it's not that suprising.... In the end I found the ad2k to have a more emotional less dry...- mmayer167

Yup that is IM, the song you linked is "project 100". Their new album army of mushrooms is pretty good. My favorite all time song from IM is "Dancing with Kadafi" off of their BP empire album, listen to that one for sure. I'm always surprised when I mention infected mushroom and hardly anyone...- mmayer167

These definitely open up after some good hard play time with something like infected mushroom or pendulum. Or any heavy electronic music you have in your library. Play them at levels on the verge of uncomfortable for at least 50 hours (IMO) to hear a change for the better in the high end and a...- mmayer167

Yep just the old ad2k ;) you could say the ad900x is more fun. They are both an AT sound that is for certain. The things I pointed out can pretty much be gathered by reading up on them both but I thought I just jot it down in one post.- mmayer167

Hey everyone, So I picked up the ad900x from the post today. I've got maybe 4 hours of listening time on them. I listened to them at work and then got home and listened for a bit at home before switching to the ad2000. After i switched to the ad2k i noticed less bass presence, more...- mmayer167

I ordered an ad900x to compare with my old model ad2000 non "X" model. Hopefully it gets here soon! I really like the ad2k so it should be a fun comparison. I'll post when i've had some time to compare. Cheers, ~M- mmayer167

Brief Odac impressions
Been listening to the odac through a p-51 mustang for a few days now. I think it is an excellent pairing, it goes well with the RSA house sound. Never harsh, loads of beautiful bass, and mids to lust over. Here is a picture to show how well they stack :) Cheers, ~M- mmayer167
