XDUoo XD05PRO
Hi, just happened upon this. I'm a Sparkos user with the XD05 Pro and have the same set up with the orange USB port model and it looks like you have the op amps planted correctly in the board. What displays if you take the op amp board out entirely and turn it on? Have you attempted a...- McPatD

Questyle CMA18 Portable DAC with Headphone Amplifier
It was touched upon earlier in the thread that there are only 32 volume steps available in the unit itself, with some leeway using an iPhone's volume. 32 is NOT good especially at this price point and am hoping someone can shed a bit more light on this topic while using PC, Android, iPhone as...- McPatD

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
I position for comfort foremost. I appreciate the candor on this topic and I always enjoy a bit of amateur reverse engineering of this sort and there are lots of materials on the market. Thank you.- McPatD

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
My apologies if I missed it in this growing thread, but will DCA be releasing a tuning pack (felt, foam inserts) similar to other DCA products? I ask because I purchased the E3 and am enjoying these immensely after having installed some cut to size standard AKG foam inserts for damping in the...- McPatD

Drop + Ultrasone Signature X Headphones Discussion
Haven't heard the Signature X, but I have a DXP as well, and as I understand it the Signature X is based on the Ultrasone Signature Pulse, which is a step up on the DXP generationally. So perhaps an upgrade but not a major upgrade.- McPatD

OPPO PM-3 vs Denon AH-MM400
If I understand correctly you have the 400 and have heard the Oppo? If so your own ears would make a better comparison than any of our ears or reviews.- McPatD

Sennheiser HD800 vs. HD800s
Me too. I have no desire to shill out an extra $600-$700 for the S model. You're also paying for the balanced cables and I don't have that setup anyway. I do like the black though...- McPatD

GRADO GH2 - IMPRESSIONS
Just got my GH2s today. Out of the box, starting with Streisand and Gibb Guilty, Babs never sounded so good. To paraphrase Ned Beatty in Deliverance, "This corn is special," As an owner of the GH1, a nice compliment. Very buttery sounding.- McPatD

DT1770 Pro Experiences with Different Amps
I like it with the Grace m9xx. Pretty much everything sounds good, especially Steely Dan and the Beatles. I use Foobar2000 so I can bypass crap for a more direct signal. I can't give more flowery pose than that.- McPatD

The BeyerDynamic DT 770 Pro Discussion Thread
Love my DT770's too (32 ohm). My work can. I also agree about the AT's and the Crossfade M100 ...and I don't get the hype on the V-Modas. Not sure how they are considered exciting. Nice work by the wife :grinning:.- McPatD

Burn in recommendations
If you don't much care for them now, you likely won't after 100 hours of playing pink noise in your sock drawer. The sound signature will not change. I do believe in burn in since the drivers are physically moving and pumping sound through them tends to "stretch the muscles" so to speak. For now...- McPatD
