Hi,

I have an SDR-modded HD800, but I am wondering what all the fuss is about the HD800s.

I know that HD800S was supposed to address the treble spike on the HD800, but if one has the SDR mod done on the HD800, is there any advantage left on owning a HD800S?

Me too. I have no desire to shill out an extra $600-$700 for the S model. You're also paying for the balanced cables and I don't have that setup anyway. I do like the black though...

Decent setup +HD800 + PEQ + know what you're doing = no need for HD800S

But I did listen to the HD800S with no EQ and they do sound very very good. So for... EQ noobs... that wish to go hifi - HD800S is what I would recommend.
