Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
I was looking forward to the reveal, but it ain't for me. Strikes me that this is more Mojo 1.5. A fundamental design / positioning choice was to keep the same footprint as the original and to maintain compatibility with Poly, whereas I was hoping for a unit that combined Poly-like functionality...- PJDubyaM

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone
I wouldn't want to give you an answer, because it's a mess, but – if you dig through older Darko videos (from last six months or so), I think you'll probably find one. He's certainly done videos on lossless / iOS / etc, but can't remember precisely what he said.- PJDubyaM

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
The want is strong, for sure, but don’t know what tangible advantages there’d be over my current Node 2 as a streamer. But doesn‘t stop me from wanting them! Hope they’re doing them in black.- PJDubyaM

There's a review of the M Scaler in the latest Stereophile (March 2020, with Rega P10 on the front cover). Positive, but not effusive.- PJDubyaM

Airpods pro
Yeah, this. To me, the ANC feels like in a movie, when the music is dialled up and the on-screen audio is pushed right back in the mix. It's subtle, but it's very effective. Had a few test runs on these now, and they're absolute keepers. It's not that they've got the best audio, or the best...- PJDubyaM

Thanks Triode – Amberlamps has already helped me out and pointed me towards things. Got close to pulling the trigger then! But just wondering what Kyn ended up with.- PJDubyaM

Could I ask you what setup / specs you ended up with? I've been very close to pulling the trigger on a Nucleus / NUC before, but haven't quite. You've pushed me close to it again!- PJDubyaM

Yeah, that's kinda what I figure. Just squirt in CD-quality or above, get audio unicorn honey out the other side. Wouldn't expect (or need?) Roon to add / change anything?- PJDubyaM

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I'm really confused about the Mscaler / TT2 being added to Roon. Assuming that the most likely use case with Roon is streaming to a network streamer (as opposed to outputting directly from whatever's running your Core), under what circumstances does Chord gear being Roon Tested actually matter...- PJDubyaM

Fantastic stuff, thanks Amberlamps. Will read / digest properly probably over the weekend (it's being a busy week, this one!) Use case would be: sorting out a NUC instead of getting a Roon Nucleus.- PJDubyaM

I've looked at NUCs before, but always got a bit lost as to what needs speccing / what to choose / etc. Get a bit paralysed that I'll end up with the wrong thing. Any recommended pre-mades or sources or things to make it easier for non-techheads, Amberlamps?- PJDubyaM

Would be really interested to hear your thoughts. Long-term, I'd love to get a second high-end pair of headphones to complement my Empyreans, and ZMF's stuff has jumped out at me.- PJDubyaM

My justification exactly. M Scaler + TT2 + Empys = zero fatigue. Can comfortably be headphones-on all day, no worries at all. I don't really 'do' holidays; I'm more than happy spending the money that normal people would spend on travel, on having best-in-the-world music reproduction every day...- PJDubyaM

Listening to an inFiné 'label stories' playlist on Qobuz, and it's totally my cup of tea. Forward-looking electronica at one end, stuff like the LP I'm about to recommend down the other. Thought this LP might appeal to people here...- PJDubyaM

Would be an insta-buy for me. I don't actually need one right enough, but a nice Roon-Ready Chord streamer would just... match. It would bring balance.- PJDubyaM

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone
So far this year, my chain has developed from M Scaler -> Mojopoly -> Empyreans to M Scaler -> loaner Hugo 2 -> Empyreans and now finally M Scaler -> TT2 -> Empyreans, and in all setups I stuck with the leather pads. I don't really get on with the alcantara sound.- PJDubyaM

I'm very much modern electrical. And I'm loving what M Scaler does. As I've posted before, main benefits for me are a) an utter utter lack of fatigue when listening on headphones, and b) the ability to listen to (and enjoy) very dense music. So for a) – I can quite happily listen to music all...- PJDubyaM

Mine fiiiiinally turned up, so now a fully paid-up member of the TT2 club. Also means that my desktop rig is done. First song through was FKA twigs' 'Cellophane'. Holy hell that sounded good.- PJDubyaM

Can't help directly with your question, but I feed my M Scaler with a Node 2, and I do it via optical. From having read this thread (all of it!), optical's pretty much the way to go. You can set the Node to have fixed volume output as well, which I think shortens the path out of it.- PJDubyaM

I buy multiple digital downloads per week. Important to me to support labels that I like, so I happily buy rather than just stream. I buy every single one of Bleep's Albums Of The Week blind, and then a bunch of other stuff from Bleep, Bandcamp or direct from label. Discovered a label called...- PJDubyaM
