Review: Sony D-25S Portable CD Player (LONG)
I just gave mine a spin with the HD600 and Igor Zhukov playing Scriabin preludes. It still runs nicely 27 years after its date of manufacture!- daycart1

Scotch
I recently came across a rare (for here) bottle of Old Pulteny 12. True to its reputation, it is very SALTY--the saltiest scotch I've ever tasted. I mixed it half and half with my favorite cheap blend (Teachers) and loved it that way.- daycart1

Quote: Since I haven't posted in a while, I should note that I've upgraded the bifocals to trifocals. No upgrades to the headphones..... -
What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Every version of the Rachmaninoff Op 39 #5 available on YouTube. I think my favorite is Nelson Friere's. (using the old Grado 325) -
Why do people delete their prices when gear is sold?
Ah, a classic thread revival. I always thought that price removal was a prissy attempt to frustrate free markets (i.e. with full information) in used equipment.- daycart1

Members lounge "classic threads"....
One of my favorites was the thread involving the frenzy over the JVC fungus phones. For some reason, the search does not turn up a link- daycart1

Hot Sauce-Fi
Yup, I like the extract-spiked Dave's insanity too. It is too hot for me to take straight, but it is great in soups and salsas.- daycart1

Chopin--why doesn't he get too much respect here?
I'm coming in late here, but for HEADPHONE listening, the later Arrau recordings are very fine. Lots of bass line definition (check out the Nocturnes, e.g.) and majestic tempi. -

What kind of cheese do you have on your Philly cheese steak?
Last time I was in Philly I got a really good vegetarian Philly Cheesesteak, though I would have preferred real cheese to the soy "cheese".- daycart1

Chess help required!
Of course, there will be problem positions where either side can win. But in the general case, this is a draw.- daycart1

POLL: BLADE RUNNER or THE MATRIX (original release)
Bladerunner. For deep science fiction, -Solaris- rules (the original Tarkovsky version, of course). I thought 12 Monkeys was also very good.- daycart1

Scotch
OK, here is some stuff I've tried in the past few months: Glenlivet Nadura: A nice, spicy cask strength. Not what you'd expect from G'livent Various Glenrothes: These come in cute little 100ml sampler packs. They are quite smooth, vaguely citrusy and plenty sweet. Kinda thin mouth feel...- daycart1

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up with a 4 stroke "Troybuilt" which works pretty well. It's kinda heavy, but I can use the exercise!- daycart1
