Earbuds Round-Up
Thanks, they sound every bit as good as I remembered. I haven't kept up with the earbud lineup since I got these so I don't know if there's better out there now, but the way the treble sings on these with excellent instrument separation and overall open detailed sound got me reaching for them...- EinTheVariance

Earbuds Round-Up
After 2 months, I finally got the Chaconne back today, all repaired well :) It seems they re-cabled it and did a better job of having some strain relief on the cables going into the buds this time. It was a long 2 months, but the NiceHCK DIY PK1 I bought on a whim sometime back kept me going...- EinTheVariance

Earbuds Round-Up
Good point, I'm not sure to be honest. I got them from shenzen audio on Amazon a little over a year ago. I can't find any sort of warranty info. Yea, I asked here since I figure if anyone can save them, it'd be someone here.- EinTheVariance

Earbuds Round-Up
anyone got any experience with repairing the moondrop chaconne? The left ear is cutting in and out, so I suspect the soldering job is loose or something. I've never soldered before so I'm not sure how difficult it is, or even how to take this apart without breaking it. If anyone knows a...- EinTheVariance

Decided to put these up for sale as they kinda overlap with my Stax so I don't use them as much anymore. Everything is in good condition, SN 31051. Comes with the default 1/4 in. cable and also the official Sennheiser balanced/XLR cable, all in an aftermarket storage shell case as pictured...- EinTheVariance

yes, the Zen 2.0 is pretty tame in the treble, they're more mid-focused, a lot warmer and closer. The Chaconne has more of an airy presentation. I'd easily pick the Chaconne over the Zen (or any other earbuds I've heard honestly). Compared to open back headphones, the Zen 2.0 sound is closer...- EinTheVariance

I don't have major fit issues, but I found silicone rings are enough to help the earbuds stay in your ear without going over-ear/using earhooks. I use these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001146948880.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.56f84c4d82UjXV I got the LBBS at the same time as the Chaconne...- EinTheVariance

sorry about your first chaconne, it's good that you got it replaced though. Since we're dealing with chi-fi seems like it's unavoidable to have longer turn around. Are you noticing any differences in detail retrieval between the two?- EinTheVariance

Earbuds Round-Up
I'm currently running Shozy Cygnus on a daily basis so thinking about upgrading. I was initially going to go straight up to Shozy BK, but after doing some research, I'm looking at Fiio EM5 and Moondrop Chaconne as well. It seems that the EM5 is disliked by some on this board, so is Chaconne...- EinTheVariance

I'm seriously contemplating on going as it will actually be nearby for once. I haven't gone to one of these before, is it generally recommended to bring your own DAP or is it not a good idea? The reason being I am mostly interested in hearing some headphones in a gear I have vs out of some... -

that's a good question, I don't really stream so I can't comment on that. Do streaming apps even tell you if they're resampling? hmm- EinTheVariance

I don't do this, but I think the pure music mode does have support for DLNA if I recall correctly although I don't know how it performs. I think neutron has support for it too- EinTheVariance

In my tests, UAPP downsamples, poweramp, neutron, and music mode doesn't. I personally just stick with pure music mode nowadays, but I also don't experience any sort of lag, so ymmv.- EinTheVariance

there's definitely enough, even more so if you're using turbo balanced mode. Turbo mode is fairly new (as of firmware 1.19) so most reviews out there that are older than that won't mention it.- EinTheVariance

so I finally got my XLR to 2.5mm adapter in from VE after my first one from Amazon came DOA and so I took the time the try the X5 with the R70x which is probably the hardest to drive out of anything I've currently and ever owned. Just wanted to give some impression in terms of what the X5 is...- EinTheVariance

Can't comment on spotify but I actually came from the X3 2nd gen and still have both actually, although I'll probably be getting rid of it soon unless something changed with the X5. To me, the X5 3rd gen is way more detailed and musical. The X3 2nd gen felt too bright when I first came to it...- EinTheVariance

When I look at their indiegogo page, it says Estimated delivery March 2018 I couldn't find any online stores that have it up for sale yet either so I don't think it's out. However, I think some reviewers have gotten a sample/pre-prod from Hiby to review. The indiegogo page also says it's...- EinTheVariance

The R6 has better hardware specs on the android/performance side (it is basically mid-range phone specs running a Snapdragon 425 Processor with 3GB RAM). On the other hand, it's running Sabre DACs vs the AKM DACs on the X5, is substantially more expensive, and isn't actually out on the market...- EinTheVariance
