Recommendations: Pairing Headphones with Mytek Manhattan
Can you share your experiences in pairing headphones successfully with the Mytek Manhattan (I or II, since they have similar characteristics)? With roots in the mastering industry, the Manhattan has unreal detail retrieval, but can be quite forward when matched with the wrong cables and...- Fork

Jaguar RTOS
Hello Nagual. Yes, it's not uncommon for ethernet drivers to not be installed as stock, because there are so many. I didn't do a wifi setup, because I don't use a wireless router in the Jaguar Listening Studio and didn't have one to use for the setup. I've got so many new projects going on...- Fork

Hello Theogenes. You will need to contact Lynx or just give it a try. Some Lynx cards will work with Linux and some, like the AES-16, absolutely will not.- Fork

Seattle Frye museum January 5th meet
JPlay is a player for Windows, while the Jaguar RTOS is a full operating system with it's own iTunes-style player. We're not talking about a realtime player, but rather a realtime audio kernel (the core of the OS). Windows and Mac/OSX operating systems do not have realtime kernels (and the...- Fork

Seattle Frye museum January 5th meet
The meet was fantastic. I give a lot of credit to Big Poppa & Co. and the Frye for enabling such a great event. There was a lot of people who came through during the day. I'm definitely going back there to check out the rest of the museum when I have the opportunity. I was so busy...- Fork

Need USB cable. Does USB cable make a differences
I haven't experimented with it. I believe the answer is no, because some DAC manufacturers have told me they didn't see a performance advantage with USB 3.0. I wouldn't discourage you from trying it if you have the time. I'm pretty sure all cables are backward compatible.- Fork

Need USB cable. Does USB cable make a differences
Yes, of course the placebo effect is real, but we're talking about experienced listeners, not random people exposed to speaker sound. If you can't get over placebo what are you doing auditioning $1,000 USB cables? Even if someone can show you a measurable difference in a USB cable it...- Fork

Need USB cable. Does USB cable make a differences
Xnor, you seem to be missing my main point on everything. If I let my ears be the judge, it doesn't matter how things work. If your ears are capable of hearing differences in sound don't take anyone's claim on faith, just listen, evaluate whether the result is positive and worth the money...- Fork

The Lynx AES16 does not work with Linux. There is a workaround to downgrade the firmware and use the proprietary Open Sound driver, but not worth doing in my opinion. Some Lynx cards can be used with Linux, but not this one.- Fork

Jaguar RTOS
I've been getting questions lately about DAC compatibility with the Jaguar RTOS. To be clear, if your DAC's USB connection requires installation of a special software driver to work, you need to check with the manufacturer about whether they make a version for the Linux OS. However, if you're...- Fork
