How does everyone think the E12 would perform with the HE-500's? I predict that I will want to travel with the 500's and NOT bring my entire setup....I've heard the E12 is ridiculously powerful

I'm listening to the HFI 780's...and they are decent for vocals and metal. They sound great, as they are a clear upgrade from the M50's...less muffled because the bass isn't taking over the song. Any more recommendations for femal vocals/metal headphones? In the 200 price range.

I'm switching between both as I type.    There is a very noticeable difference between these two headphones. When listening to any of the genres you mentioned, the M50's sound muffled in comparison to the 780's. The bass in the M50's is ridiculous..sometimes in a good way though. It does...

I would have to disagree, I think the M50's feel very sturdy and durable..and they're light...also keep in the mind that yes, they were $140 for you, and that may be expensive for your budget. At the same time they are only $140....close to bottom of the totem pole in the big picture! Even...

That's comforting. Any recommendations on 3.5mm -> RCA? I'm not the kinda guy to say cables add significant sound quality or anything..just looking for very solid, well built (one set should last a lifetime...maybe 2 )...high quality cables.
