NEW XDUOO X serie DAP-X20, X10+ & X3+. XDUOO Are on FIRE!!!
I didn't look too deep into the X20 before I bought x3ii, but looks like it has beefier output stage and also balanced out option, but less battery life. These aren't things I needed - x3ii is great value in my opinion for its feature set. There is also improved firmware from SinuX (see his...- mantaray

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player
Yes I'm very tempted by it, although I think the battery life on the V1-A must be lower due to the presence of extra analog components. But anyway I can't get away from the fact I hate touch screens! Some thinking for me to do for sure. I think I'm leaning towards xduoo x3ii because it seems it...- mantaray

NEW XDUOO X serie DAP-X20, X10+ & X3+. XDUOO Are on FIRE!!!
aha wow that's good to know. Yep I'd prefer to have hardware buttons, touch screen feels too much like a phone :D OK looks like x3ii is winning now, looking forward to trying your firmware!- mantaray

NEW XDUOO X serie DAP-X20, X10+ & X3+. XDUOO Are on FIRE!!!
Sorry to repeat this question but I'm trying to decide on a player quite urgently! I narrowed down my choice to x3ii or Tempotec V1-A. Question to x3ii owners - does this have the same pitch issue at 44.1khz as the x3?- mantaray

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player
Looks fun... a bit too minimal for me! My all time favourite was the Clip+ and it's maybe the fact that this isn't made any more that I'm looking for a new DAP. Mine was stolen and since then I've been using phone... but I'm sick of that now :D- mantaray

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player
Tempotec V1-A, there are some reviews here but no big user thread: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/tempotec-v1-a.23908/reviews From what I've read about it so far, it actually seems pretty amazing for the money.- mantaray

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player
Thanks for the suggestion! But looks like a no-go as it's capacitive touch interface only. I am only considering the V1-A as it has buttons for all main functions as well as touch screen which I guess is ok for browsing the lib. I absolutely detest touch interfaces - they fail the basic...- mantaray

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player
Thanks for the reply. Man that's a buzzkill as it is a deal breaker. I can appreciate that you can browse folders, but that's just not something I really want to do. I'm at a point where I just want an easy life, not workarounds :D Actually that's why I was initially attracted to this player, as...- mantaray

Review of Hidizs AP100 portable HiFi music player
Trying to decide on a new player at the moment. Options are AP100, xduoo x3ii or Tempotec V1-A. I would like to ask a question to anyone who might know - has the 5800 track limit for the id3 database been fixed in a later firmware for the AP100? If this is fixed I'm pretty sure I'll buy this...- mantaray

NEW XDUOO X serie DAP-X20, X10+ & X3+. XDUOO Are on FIRE!!!
Question for any x3ii owners - does this have the same playback issue at 44.1khz as the x3 (wrong pitch) ? I think Rockbox fixes this for the x3 afaik, but I'd like to stick to stock firmware (or a variant of the stock like the one linked here) for battery life concerns if at all possible...- mantaray

Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions
DIY PK2 sounds great to me but I hate the braided cable. I have not used factory PK2. DIY PK3 was really bad - nothing like factory PK3 I owned previously. But perhaps I got a defective unit.- mantaray

OK, it just seemed like another whine disguised as an advert. It's not a crime, and neither is pointing it out. It just did not seem helpful to me. But if that was not your intention then I'm sorry.- mantaray

Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions
I have to agree with BenF - there's really no need to go on and on about this… gets quite boring and tedious apart from anything else. I've seen lots of recommendations on head-fi that I don't agree with - Senn MX580, Awei ES10, BEB 328R for example. I stated my disagreement once or twice and...- mantaray

Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions
A quick question to anyone who ordered from Dasetn to Europe - how long should it take generally? My TG-38S was shipped on June 4 and still hasn't turned up today (30th). I'm beginning to lose hope that it will ever arrive. Anyone have any advice on what I should do? Paypal claim?- mantaray

Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions
Awei ES10 and HD650 in the same sentence? Does not compute. I bought a pair of the Aweis, was not impressed. Doesn't come anywhere close to Yuin PK2/PK3 or Baldoor Earbell, let alone HD650. I know you're not saying they're the same but to compare them in any way seems utterly surreal to me...- mantaray

2 full foams on top of each other. edit- you could be right about Yuin drivers being used for these. I managed to get my Dasetn modded PK2's into half-usable condition again and did a brief comparison. The PK2 sounded a tiny bit more balanced but it's really really close. The Baldoor...- mantaray

Another follow-up to my experiences so far after another couple of earbuds arrived in the post: Blue Ever Blue 328R and Awei ES10. To put it briefly, I didn't enjoy these earbuds as they have a remarkable level of top-end filtering going on. This may be a taste thing as I enjoy high-end detail a...- mantaray

Pure speculation here (well you asked for it) - hasn't Chinese manufacturing been used for many years by US/Japanese/European companies? If the factories exist in China, the Chinese can learn from them. I work in audio recording and this is what happened with microphones - clones of mics by...- mantaray

Quick follow-up on the Baldoor Earbell - I have been having fun listening to these. They are so much more powerful and kick out so much more bass than the Sennheiser MX580, without breaking a sweat. The detail level is nice. I paid more than usual for these from a fast-delivery UK seller and I...- mantaray
