AKG K550 - NEW!!
Quote: it could be a matter of preference, but to me K240 never came even close to K701 in terms of sound quality. i ended up selling k701 in favor of hd600 only because senns are more versatile (and more bassy as well)- JeckyllAndHyde

N00b: Wanting To Buy SennHeiser HD650's. Need Direction.
yes, but hd650 are by no means "wow-effect" headphones. they just do everything very good. they will be MUCH better than beats though (but not in loud environment)- JeckyllAndHyde

Beats by Dr. Dre Pro From Monster worth £115/$179 refurbished?
249 is still waaay too much for Beats Pro and what they represent - the HD25 sound way better to me. I liked even the hd25sp more. for about 300 you can get used HD650 and thats the way to go if you want good headphones with bass- JeckyllAndHyde

Best Headphones for ALL genres.....
Vintage AKGs (K240 Sextetts, Monitors K141 and offsprings) do everything quite good. HD600 is my personal pick.- JeckyllAndHyde

Vintage Philips N6330: sextett look-alike made in Austria by AKG
Just got them (philips) ehm... 4 of them. I agree with most opinions here, they are very involving with nice bass and beautiful midrange. Build quality is a little bit better than Sextetts - metal springs instead of elastics! Just finished refoaming one of them and will post later...- JeckyllAndHyde

AKG k141 repairable?
take a tiny screwdriwer and remove the plastic (clear rubber?) badge - there are screws underneath - the K141's are quite easy to repair- JeckyllAndHyde

AKG K4 K 4
Lucky! Just got the K4's 2 days ago at the local flea market :) Initial impressions: they don't sound bad at all! I like them more than K340 that i used to have (definetely more comfortable) - but this might be because I'm a sucker for hq (and rare) portable headphones :) I'll post...- JeckyllAndHyde

"Best" Piano/Classical full-sized headphones for 350$ or less?
I think K701 are qiute safe choice for piano music. I've had many AKG's and in terms of details and clarity none came close. I do think sextetts are much overrated - my favorite vintage would be K240 Monitor (600 ohm version) and shortly after K240DF mentioned by Erik.- JeckyllAndHyde

Reply to review by 'jeckyllandhyde' on item 'Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Professional Headphone'
it all comes down to personal taste, but for me hd25 combines nice set of bonuses in one package: good, funny sounding + portable + easy to drive + undestructible i found K181 and for example HDJ1000 just as good sounding, but much less comfortable (to me at least)- JeckyllAndHyde
