Something Broke in my HD500's
Hi guys, I have a problem with my Sennheiser HD500's. It sounds like something broke off on the right side of them, and is rattling around in there. I looked for any obvious way to just fish it out of there (as the rattling is the only problem that I have) but have had no luck. Is there...- tboneDX

Any way to stack my gear on my receiver?
Ideally, I would like to have a multi-tiered setup. What I'm envisioning is a deal with four legs (with rubber feet) and some sort of platform on top (preferably some sort of black finish sheet metal) and then a few more of them so I can just keep stacking them up as I need. I know that a lot... -
Any way to stack my gear on my receiver?
Alright, I figured I would have to do something along those lines. It looks like the top of my receiver has a lack of vents on each of the four corners, should I just get some sort of rubber feet for this contraption that I'm building? It would be cool if I could get it to look like the metal... -
Any way to stack my gear on my receiver?
Hi, thanks to my taste for electronics and people on forums like this, I have too many electronic boxes on top of my desk. The one with the biggest footprint is my Denon AVR1907 Receiver, and I'm looking for a good way to stack something on top of it, say my PS3 for example (or 360 or wii or a...- tboneDX

Looking for a good pair of bookshelves
Thanks for the feedback! I'm leaning more and more towards the Paradigm Mini's. Is $400 a reasonable price for a pair of these? or should I try to get the shop to go lower (I'm not much of a bargainer).- tboneDX

Looking for a good pair of bookshelves
are you saying that i should spend more than the 600 dollars that i spent on my denon avr1907 on some speakers? Decision making is hard, however I have officially decided to go to some more audio shops when I get the chance. I need to find one that carries more comparable speakers so I can...- tboneDX

Looking for a good pair of bookshelves
So would you say that the 400 dollar paradigms would be the best of these choices? I have looked at some speakers online, such as the av123 x-ls and that great deal they have on the ref1's. I have no idea how they would compare to these as I have not heard them. Are the x-ls about equivalent to... -
Looking for a good pair of bookshelves
so do you think the atoms would be better than the boston's? I do like there small form factor, and the lack of bass response really isn't an issue for me. If I want bass I can add a sub later. The guy at the shop said that the Boston's are the best bang for the buck speakers he had, but he... -
Looking for a good pair of bookshelves
I just went to the local audio shop, and I have a couple of speakers that I need opinions on. I'm deciding between the Paradigm Atom monitors for 250, the Paradigm Mini's for 400, or some Boston CR77's for $250. I was able to get a fairly good idea of how each of them sound, but since I only... -
Looking for a good pair of bookshelves
Hi all! I'm finally looking into getting speakers for my nearly complete media setup. Right now I have a PC, Xbox360, and PS3 hooked up to a Denon avr 1907 via digital optical, and a Wii connected with analogue. I'm looking for a pair of nice bookshelves that I can put on stands on either...- tboneDX

Need a usb microphone! :O
Now that I use the multi port on my sound blaster x-fi extreme gamer fatal1ty pro (or whatever), for digital output to my new receiver, I no longer have the option of using a microphone there. I need a good quality mic to use almost entirely for voice communication. Some amount of noise...- tboneDX

Which Sennheiser's for College??
Yes to the overall setup? All that I currently own are the sources and the soundcard. Since the HD580's are discontinued I will have a harder time getting hold of a pair, so I might just go with the 265's to keep things simple (and prevent issues at college) This receiver is 550 (msrp)...- tboneDX

Which Sennheiser's for College??
I am looking at upgrading my HD500's, and need some opinions. I will be living in a college dorm, so I might want to consider some closed phones (HD265?), but I also like the possibility of picking up some used HD580's for a good deal. I will mainly be using my pc (with x-fi extreme gamer) and...- tboneDX

Help with audio for college
wow, didn't see that there was a new page. I dont think i said that I wanted closed phones outright, and if i did it was a mistake. I currently have open ones and I like them a lot. Also, if anyone here thinks it worth the extra few $$$ to get better headphones feel free to make...- tboneDX

Help with audio for college
Wow, that Harmon Kardon receiver would do everything that I need (even if i have to use that optical input on the front). All I would need to accompany this would be an hdmi switcher, as I connect my both my ps3 and pc (via dvi to hdmi) to my monitor's one hdmi input. Would it be better to get...- tboneDX

Help with audio for college
these are some really good looking suggestions, but I may have just convinced myself that headphones are the best option for the college scene. Can you recommend some circumaural open/closed headphones (better than my hd500's) for music, gaming and movie watching? I would also need a good...- tboneDX

Question about headphones (using with consoles + pc)
Hi there, I have a question. I believe I might be in the market for a new pair of phones for college, but I might have some connectivity issues. I have a pc, xbox360, ps3 and wii that I will want to be using my headphones with. Is there a logical way to have all of these sources connected at...- tboneDX

Help with audio for college
I hear you there, I might want to wait on the speakers for now. That being said, is there a good way to take the digital/analog output from my pc and games and run them all through a headphone amp? I'm new to the headphone amp thing. I would also love to hear some suggestions on some cans...- tboneDX

Help with audio for college
than denon amp looks right up my ally, its full 7.1 surround correct (oh i see that it is now) so i wont need to change my amp if I want to go that direction? About headphones: as I said before, I'm currently using Sennheiser HD500's, which are circumaural open heaphones. I like the feel of...- tboneDX
