Now that I use the multi port on my sound blaster x-fi extreme gamer fatal1ty pro (or whatever), for digital output to my new receiver, I no longer have the option of using a microphone there.

I need a good quality mic to use almost entirely for voice communication. Some amount of noise canceling would be nice, but is not necessary. I would also like to be able to use this mic with my ps3 which will only work with usb mics.

Let me know your thoughts!

i use a logitech fusion webcam.. and it has a very nice built in mic.. might wanna consider those kinda options

i have no clue if you can just get a plain usb mic

I use this USB headset from Altec Lansing. Comes with a separate USB card that works very well, no drivers needed.

You get the headset, mic and USB sound card for under $20 shipped.

If you don't want to wear the headset, just it set on the desk in front of you, it works fine that way, you just have to turn the gain up some.

You can also plug pretty much any mic you want into the 3.5 mm jack on the USB card.
