Cayin iDAP-6 - versatile new desktop transport
HI, I own one. I'm assuming from the history on here that there will be no more support (firmware or fixes) for the IDAP-6. I'm very happy with mine - I'm still waiting a fix for my HDMI issue hopefully will be resolved shortly. I have mine connected to 2x 256gb fast USB thumb drives (samsung)...- beyerdude

Cayin iDAP-6 - versatile new desktop transport
I've got 2x fast samsung 256gb USB thumb drives and a decent 128gb SD card as well as a Samsung T5 1TB so no issues at all playing when HDMI is not connected/using the workaround - as you said no lag and a decent setup, works a treat with the phone app over bluetooth to control it. I could never...- beyerdude

Cayin iDAP-6 - versatile new desktop transport
I find the bluetooth side frustrating - it's not easy to swap from Hibymusic to streaming bluetooth music from my phone, I tried the recommended NAS/Network streaming set up and gave up as it was not exactly elegant. If it weren't for the sheer quality of the playback and the aesthetics I would...- beyerdude

I still have the issue, I chased this with the Main UK supplier and so far no response, but to be fair to them they did not supply the IDAP6 component so it was a favour rather than a reseller issue and i will call them as they were going to ask the UK rep directly (this was a few months back) -...- beyerdude

Is anyone still using the IDAP-6 on here - I have one, lovely playback from the SD card but nothing will play from the USB ports - Had a Sandisk 1tb SSD working briefly before it gave up (about 1 day) - Replaced with a Samsung t5 1tb drive which it does not recognise at all, have now just bought...- beyerdude

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)
Burson have never been anything but exceptional in dealing with support issues whether hardware or software related for me and this over 5 years or more and i've had a lot of their products - Are you seriously suggesting that Burson released a product and didn't test the windows driver?- beyerdude

Yes, I think they are criminally underrated too - I never got some of the reviews, thought I had a different pair of headphones....Lucky for me I bought them when they didn't have the 5* reviews for a song :-)- beyerdude

I loved these headphones when they weren't getting a lot of love. They are a near equal to the HD800/HE560, in some ways I prefer them. They are a bargain S/H. They are comfortable/light and tough. They can get a little intense but only with a harsh/glaring DAC in my experience.- beyerdude

Metrum Acoustics Aurix
I've contacted Metrum support, it's weird as it doesn't seem to do it (or the distortion is so low ) with the DT880 600ohm - just nervous as this is an ebay purchase and don't want to end up with a lemon.....if I wasn't away on business I would have a lot more sources/headphones to check it with...- beyerdude

Metrum Acoustics Aurix
I'm hoping you are right about the impedance not being correct - but saying that it does the same from the line (RCA) out from a TEAC tape deck which surely should be the right impedance? - Haven't checked the transformers but it does the same with 0db gain so had ruled it out?- beyerdude

Metrum Acoustics Aurix
Okay Aurix owners, I have an issue which I'm trying to get resolution on - I was an original Aurix buyer some years back so know the product quite well. I've recently purchased another second hand - sold as new (and looks it) - I'm away from my main set up so am testing it with a MacBook pro -...- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
I was one of the early adopters of the CV2+ I got mine as part as the first batch along with the Timekeeper Virtuoso. Mine had a brief (like 2 second) burst of static after about 2 hours from new and then nothing ever since. I had an issue with hum from the Timekeeper/CV2+ combo - ended up being...- beyerdude

Metrum Acoustics Aurix
From my memory of the Aurix loves/needs high (300+) ohm headphones - it wasn't convincing at all with my HE-500 - If you are thinking about the LCD-2 I would consider another amp....- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
I stopped when I worked out I had to earn enough money to support the addiction - I was okay on Mid-fi headphones (although my wife would laugh at that description and most friends would look ashen faced) but the summit-fi stuff now is just getting into completely insane money. Luckily I have a...- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
I had the E12diy version that fitted the Muse like a dream - didn't have any issue getting the case shut. Had quite a few opamp/buffer combos for that - stuck with the muse 02 and buff 634 in the end. Luckily the minimax had been butchered before I owned it (bought it and found out it had been...- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
Haha - I've totally stuffed up a mod to the E12diy (pulled off the copper traces when removing stock caps) - it never worked again, the minimax copper traces are also not that great. People used to knock the chinese rip off amp boards but the traces are generally better on these than on some of...- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
The Metrum DACs are amazing - I had the HEX and Octave II prior to that. I don't think they excel at all types of music however - it's a while since I owned the HEX but I remember thinking that it's either stunning, or in some cases a little underwhelming depending on the source music/bitrate...- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
I had about 15-20 different tubes + about 5 different recifiers - all high quality/Japanese/US made - basically multiples of every type in about 3 makes - don't think it was the tubes - admittedly the Milspec Siemens rectifiers ran the quietest - there is no question that the WA6-SE is a superb...- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
I had the Metrum Hex, Metrum Aurix and WA6SE - the Hex was a lovely piece of kit but cost as much as my v2+ and Timekeeper Virtuoso combined :-) Yes the Hex and WA 6SE exceeded the SQ of the V2+ but it sucked when it came to driving the HE500/PM in general, it hummed at a low level so ruined the...- beyerdude

Yep - Customer service is second to none in my experience - have managed to talk direct if I have ever had any questions, great bunch of people. New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)
I was tempted by the HA-2SE (assuming you mean the Oppo model) - was too near to the HA-2 and also seemed to get fairly lacklustre reviews when it first came out......- beyerdude

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)
I looked on the burson audio page and couldn't find it - it appears as if the link provided on the forum (/products/play) does work but no links from the home page....I'm tempted it's whether I opt to keep steal the v5's from my dac (have enough singe and dual) or upgrade to the 6's :-)- beyerdude

New Burson Conductor - V2 and V2+
I'm also firmly staying in the V2+/Burson camp - it's the least faffing around/allrounder amp that I have owned. I've had it from the onset/first release and have no plans to upgrade (which in itself is unusual) In the end the minimal improvement in SQ you get with kit over double the price is...- beyerdude
