DAP for an orthodynamic headphone
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a DAP who can fully a orthodynamic headphone, I have a moded fostex T50RP and my little sansa can barely handle it. I'm tempted to get an ipod classic that I would rockbox as it has a huge capacity but I'm concerned about its capability to drive the fostex. As my...- Puranti

USB DAC. Use on Linux? Recent drivers?
Quote: Why using foobar on wine ? Wine implementation is not perfect, use Deadbeef or a similar program, I had a dac on linux with no problem. Check this http://www.head-fi.org/t/561961/bit-perfect-audio-from-linux- Puranti

Bauer stereophonic-to-binaural DSP
I recently heard a great speaker system and I realized how disconnected from a real stereo system I was. I came back to use the BS2B dsp and thought the C.Moy settings were very close to what I heard on this speaker system, I'm definitely going to use it now.- Puranti

The T50RP Paradox | reviews, discussion, & mini-tour impressions (index in second post)
Yeah I know about their stress tests and unicorn made housing but I've been using it for perhaps 3 months and it holds up worst than most cables I've used. I'm quite upset by this.- Puranti

Soundstage. What soundstage?
Compress a good classical recording to 256 or even 320 kbps listen to it and, normaly, you will notice that it sounds nearer to you. When you're listening to classical or even jazz I always find enjoyable to hear a natural soundstage I feel like I'm in the concert hall.- Puranti

Listening fatigue
Quote: There is a difference because the sound signal is processed in a different manner. Basically, you should hear the soundstage going to the center, this can feel not right but that's the way the crossfeed works, that's why I use BS2B or head-fit, I like it when it's subtle but...- Puranti

Listening fatigue
A good crossfeed will be transparent but the sound will not be the same of course. Basically the two crossfeed I found to be the better are BS2B and head-fit with sheppi (the second combo is the most natural I've heard). You can download them as dsp for foobar2000 for windows, Qmmp for other OS.- Puranti

Cable characteristics?
The issue isn't the cable that's just it, that's why I linked the thread on cables, the only two possible causes to your issue is a bad construction of your cable or your headphones. It's more likely to be the second, just apply EQ and your problem will be solved. PS : I don't care about...- Puranti

Cable characteristics?
A quick search in the sound science subforum would have brought the answer take a look at this http://www.head-fi.org/t/356063/cables Concerning amp/dac and warmness it is not a proper way to equalize your headphones into the desired sound, use EQ, an amp or DAC should be as transparent as...- Puranti

What makes piano sound so hard to reproduce?
Quote: Well I you take those critics as oversized ego or pontificating opinions that's too bad for you. I'm myself a complete ignorant in sound science but I know how to recognize a valid argument from another, and if I'm wrong I would be glad to be corrected. Science is not a matter of...- Puranti

Listening fatigue
If you're listening to headphones it's most likely due to loudness or super-stereo, if I find the link I will edit my post but I read that the fact that headphones are completely independant from each other (speakers have a natural crossfeed) the brain takes much more energy into analyzing and...- Puranti

DAC to pair with TubeMagic A1 & DT880s
Your missing something a DAC is just converting music from digital to analog, if you're taking a standalone dac you will need an amp. You can find some very DAC/amp combo such as the fiio products (which are the cheapest and best bang for the buck) and as you mentionned the audioengine which...- Puranti
