Has anyone any idea how to get iBasso's DAC's (like Sidewinder D7) working in Linux?
 
I have foobar running in Wine without issue.
 
But I need Linux itself to detect this 44 to 192 KHz device. How have people who have used Linux longer than I succeeded in getting their USB DAC working in Linux?
 
For instance, in Ubuntu / Linux Mint?
 
Or can they suggest a distribution where it does work?
 
I'm not sure if Thesycon audio drivers for XMOS devices work in Wine on Linux, since they are drivers, not programs, but so far as I know they are required merely to bypass Windows sound control which causes issue. On Linux all sound drivers can be removed added replaced or so on so many people reported (for other usb DACs) default Linux drivers should work. If so, how do I go about getting the device recognized, running correctly?

I personally haven't been able to do this myself since I can't afford a DAC. Merely plugging it in should have Ubuntu / Linux Mint detecting it and allowing you to set the DAC as the primary sound output. If not, You'll either have to create or modify the configuration file located at /home/<your-username>/.asound.conf

Why using foobar on wine ? Wine implementation is not perfect, use Deadbeef or a similar program, I had a dac on linux with no problem.
