Comment by 'Dr. Hugo' on listing 'Focal Clear'
I took these pictures yesterday. I don't know how to add a Tim stamp. I went out of the hobby for a few years and only got back into it recently.- Dr. Hugo

Rank the IEM's you've heard
I think it's brass coating only but I am not sure, take it with a grain of salt. From my brief listening at the show, it sounds fuller and more energetic than regular edition. Surprisingly I don't think it's the bass that impresses me the most in the brass edition but the vocals. The vocals are...- Dr. Hugo

Sorry I don’t. I heard it at the hongkong audio show a few weeks ago. Maybe it’s still in the working phase and not yet released.- Dr. Hugo

Comment by 'Dr. Hugo' in item 'Just ear XJE-MH1'
I have demoed the just ear xje-mh2 (the "universal" model with no sound customization). It is hands-down the best in-ear I have ever heard and I have either owned or extensively listened to almost all the best iems on the market. Its soundstage is enormous, bass extends like premium subwoofers...- Dr. Hugo

Questyle QP2R Loaner Program!
Here is my impression of QP2R (mostly sound-wise): In general, I am truly surprised by how good the QP2R sounds. The fun and lush sound signature might not to the liking of the harsh and stringent critic but definitely a joy to listen to among people who just want to enjoy the music. I often...- Dr. Hugo

Astell ak380 – EQ sliders on AK380 having no effect on Mojo sound signature
My intuition is that when you’re feeding the mojo with an OTG cable from 380, AK380 automatically bypasses the internal digital processing to get the best output quality and the eq is probably part of that processing that was bypassed. If you use a phone for example, the digital processing isn’t...- Dr. Hugo

2.5 vs 4.4?
My fellow friends at Head-Fi, It seems to me that balanced audio connector has three widely used standards right now in the market—2.5mm (Astell&Kern and many others), 4.4mm(primarily Sony), and 4pin XLR. Obviously 4 pin XLR is pretty much only for desktop and that leaves 2.5 and 4.4 as the...- Dr. Hugo

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
There are pics and detailed specs of it in their official website: http://www.simgot.com/en/products/detail/11.html#!/detail. I'll just be honest here. Although I have heard people say that it sounds great, the shape of it looks rather weird and ugly to me.- Dr. Hugo

Next Level IEMs - currently have JH Angie
I would suggest checking out Campfire Vega and Hifiman RE2000. I’ve tried both at CamJam and the impressions are from there. Vega is noticeably smaller than most of the iems in the market and should fit your need well in that regard. My two concerns are 1. It is a quite a bass heavy iem that...- Dr. Hugo
