Will a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD power Q701? PLEASE HELP
Hmmm... This gives me a lot to think about. I'm really torn between the Z series or the TiHD. I wouldn't mind getting the older, cheaper card but its so dated and a lot of talk on cmss3d being replaced and not supported with new titles.- Sierra419

Will a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD power Q701? PLEASE HELP
Yeah but they're so old and the Zxr is the model replacing them. I've also heard that the surround sound programing and hardware it uses is antiquated and in many new releases, dead. For the price, it seems like a good buy. But technologically it seems likes I would have to replace it with the...- Sierra419

Will a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD power Q701? PLEASE HELP
Obviously, you recommend the TiHD over most cards, but what about the new Zx or Zxr? I'm not sure if I should go with the very dated Titanium HD or Zxr.- Sierra419

I'm curious as well. I'm thinking about the getting the Zx. Isn't the only difference between Zx and Zxr the second card?- Sierra419

Q701 question / help
So you'd go with the q701 over the dt990? Even if it can't be amped, besides the zx card, for a while -possibly months to years?- Sierra419

Guys, I want to thank you for all your help. You are all seriously the best! Thanks so much. I know I banned this but I'm thinking about getting the dt990 250 ohm pros over the q701 and getting the sound blaster Zx card. Thanks for everything. You've answered so many questions and taught me A LOT- Sierra419

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Sweet. Thanks guys, you really helped out a lot. With all that being said, does the sound card give my stereo headphones good "Dolby headphone" surround sound or does it just give me stereo? That's the part I'm really confused about mostly. If I have dt990 pros that are supposed to have a really...- Sierra419

Q701 question / help
Ok, I need help making a decision then. What's better: a fiio e9 and excellent sound blaster card or fiio e9 and fiio e17 dac? Would they sound the same? What would be different? If I went with an external amp/ dac would I still get simulated surround sound audio like Dolby Headphone?- Sierra419

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Ok awesome! You've been immensely helpful. Is the zxr the top of the line? I want something that's not going to get too old too fast and I want something with all the bells and whistles for awesome sound. Is the built in amp enough to power a q701 or dt990 pro 250ohm? Also, how do I check that?- Sierra419

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Well it's for surround sound gaming with a pair of dt990's or q701's. That's really it. Maybe blu rays every now and then or netflix but daily gaming. I'm just confused on what would be better, a nice sound blaster and fiio e9 amp, or a fiio e9 amp and fiio e17 dac? Is it any different? Would...- Sierra419

Really confused... Sound Blaster__?__ - whats the difference??
THANK YOU! So what's better: 1. A Zxr Card to a fiio e9 to headphones Or 2. Mobo (p8z77) audio to fiio e9/ fiio e17 combo to headphones Are they pretty much the same? Ones a sound card DAC and the other is an external DAC. That's where I'm kinda confused at the difference between option 1...- Sierra419

Will a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD power Q701? PLEASE HELP
Thanks! I was also wondering if I would be better off getting a Sound Blaster card and a fiio e9, or if I should get the fiio e9 and e17 combo. Will mobo audio to amp and DAC to headphones give me the same experience as a Sound Blaster card to amp to headphones? That's where I'm confused....If I...- Sierra419

...the differences in these cards is not at all obvious. I dont want to buy one card and find out its 10 years old, or has half the features of the other cards, etc. Thanks! *edit* I dont know if it helps but I'm looking to spend $100-$150 (which is what almost all of these cards...- Sierra419

Please help! I'm new and I dont know what I'm doing!
I appreciate you yelling that at me because I totally didn't listen the first time. However, if I go with what my budge allows, which is either the dt990's or the q701's, and the xfi hd sound card- if the card is under driving the headphones won't it sound like garbage? That's what I assumed...- Sierra419

DT990 Pro 250ohm vs Q701 as part of PC/Console gaming setup - Noob needs some guidance!
Well I'm not buying both, I'm buying one or the other. But if that's what you meant, then why do you say that they're a waste? I honestly want to know. Do the ad700's need an amp?- Sierra419
