B&W P5 Headphones: An Unboxing of the Bowers & Wilkins P5 Headphones
Has anyone seen these in their US apple store yet? I talked to B & W and they said they would be appearing in the local apple stores the last week in March, but I was wondering if anyone has seen them ahead of time. Thanks!- damballah

Origin of the HE-5
What is the origin of the company that makes the HE-5? I've looked through some threads on it, but they just seem to appear with this really interesting looking headphone, and very little information about the founding of the company and whatnot. Any information out there? (Or someone who can...- damballah

CrossRoads MylarOne X3, XB, and Classic Owners Club
I'm in too, and thinking of ordering a 2nd pair in case I lose the first one. Sometimes I just leave them in rather than switching to full-size cans when I get home at the end of the day, which is really frightening...- damballah

IEM Choices poll
Maybe you should check out the thread on the Crossroads Mylar X3, got my pair about a week ago and have been listening to them ever since. I'd say they're a tremendous value for the money. I think they were $59.00 shipped. Very in your face, musical sound. If you're looking for cold calculated...- damballah

Crossroads Mylar Three, Super.fi sound?
My M3's just got here today from Singapore, and I must say on first listen I am EXTREMELY impressed. I was worried that I was going to be disappointed, but after a quick listen on a few of my favorite tracks, I think I have a new portable / vacation favorite to replace my pairs of KSC75's that...- damballah

CDP difference for headphone
You should definitely do yourself a favor by listening to some. I've been looking for a CDP for awhile now (That's 90% of the fun is looking right?), and it's amazing how you can actually hear the difference in sound between sources. Maybe you'll find that the Marantz is just right for you, but...- damballah

CDP curiosities
I'm in the same boat as you right now, which is ironic considering how long CDP's have been on the market, but in all of my listening tests, I've found CDP's in the 500-800 range to be far superior than say, my DVD player to a friend's mid-range DAC. Your mileage may vary, but so far I haven't...- damballah

24 AWG solid copper telephone wire..
I made an interconnect cable out of this stuff one time for a joke, it wasn't a very successful endeavor. It picks up tons of RF interference. HTH, Steve- damballah

I need source for good COPPER wires
FWIW - For most people using CAT5 wires as interconnectsit almost always has a Teflon jacket on it, which is supposed to be far sonically superior to PVC. I've been using some Teflon jacketed hookup wire that I bought from Allied for my last few sets of interconnects and have been really happy...- damballah

What type of capacitor is this?
It's a Mallory Electrolytic 25 Microfarad rated for 20V. It's probably pretty old, and my guess is that it would be most useful to someone who repaired old radios. I believe that Vishay actually now owns Mallory. Mallory used to make all the caps for Millitary grade electronics. You might want...- damballah
