FiiO K5 || FiiO's docking desktop amp
For a 16 ohm load, does this K5 amp output 1.7w per channel or 1.7w combined total? (TPA6120A2 specs.) Using this to power those bassy cans, JVC HA-SZ2000- loudspl

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
It would be nice to see cans with high power handling, high-excursion drivers....but HBB you're right....a SZ2000 w/ 55x pads and plenty of amp behind them already feels like an SPL car! Maybe a mid 150's car when these things are pushed to the limit and bottom out. Anything more than that just...- loudspl

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
Proud new owner of these HA-SZ2000 cans. Really enjoying them I'm coming from a background of working in car audio where we had an Astro van built with (16) 15" Soundstream SPL subs tuned around 35hz and doing around 159-160db sealed on the dash....way back in 1998! In those days, the...- loudspl

Good news.... Found the service manual for the X here: http://averbouch.biz/wp-content/uploads/SONY_NWZ-X1000_Service_Manual.pdf Looks like the battery can be replaced but it doesn't look like the back cover will fare well from prying it off..- loudspl

Sony Xperia Acro S DAC vs. Galaxy S3 GT-I9300/9305?
Does anyone know the DAC used in the latest Xperia phones? I'm interested in the Xperia Acro S I see that it has USB tethering....so will it also allow bypass of the internal DAC with an external one? Anyone compared these newer Xperia phones with the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 or...- loudspl

Electric Avenues PA2V2, Can't Find Them?
If you get it on Ebay for a good price, it's worth it but this is a very basic amp....don't expect it to drive difficult cans or perform miracles It sounds on par with my old MSeedLabs Faith amp, but with much less power- loudspl

The iBasso D7 "Sidewinder" true 24/196 USB, images first page.
If they could possibly implement the P4 amp section with a switchable USB to battery power (external or internal pack) it would be even better. The USB-powered amp section is limited by voltage....which would also limit portability if you wanted to use it as just an amp without the PC ...- loudspl

iBasso D7, True 24Bit/192K USB-DAC (Bit for bit), Asynchronous USB transfer
Most would agree the P4 is their best-sounding amp. If it had the P4 amp section with a switchable internal rechargeable battery or external battery. pack that would be the great Switched to battery power it could have the extra voltage for the stronger amp section. LCD-2 Owners, SR-71B or 2STEPDANCE??
Maybe the SR71b has higher mW per channel at those particular impedances? The PB2 max output is rated at 32ohms. Just a guess, but it might have less output at the higher impedances of LCD2 or HD800. Maybe the SR71b is more adaptive into increased load? I am not an amp builder so my knowledge is...- loudspl

New Practical Devices XM6 Amp/DAC (The Complete Review)
Thanks for confirming. That was the debate I had between getting it vs. the D6 or DB2 It would be a waste to have those Wolfson DAC options on the XM6 if it didn't upsample! USB input is limited to 24/96 on the Ibasso DACs.....so it might be the same on the XM6 Quote:- loudspl

What Portable Headphone amp/DAC should I buy? Ibbasso D4 or D6. Practical Devices XM6 or Pico Headphone amp upsampling DAC.
I'm having the same debate right now since I need a new amp & DAC... The big question is does the XM6 upsample/convert the 16 bit USB input to 24/96, etc.?? I'm pretty sure the D6 does but I would rather get the XM6 since it has more power, DAC choices, etc. Anyone know??- loudspl
