Which schematics should I research?
Sorry for resurrecting this. I just ordered that 'cheap' CS4397 based dac off ebay, only to realize that the version I got doesn't have a usb connection? My computer doesn't have a spdif connection either, should I worry about this too much? I'm not spending another hundred dollars on a...- Mystere9

Which schematics should I research?
It is possible that lack of support will be an issue, but I agree from what I've read so far that that combo also looks quite nice to me regal. If I did go that route I would DEFINITELY want to try another project first though(such as a Cmoy!), as both of those look(to me) to be intermediate...- Mystere9

Which schematics should I research?
I'm doing my best to learn as much as possible, I really am! I just need a little help to get started down the DIY path. So, the DT150s are 250 ohms, sensitivity of 97dB. I've seen people saying that the 12AE6(A?) are the best for high impedance cans in the miniMax, is this correct? If the...- Mystere9

Which schematics should I research?
Thanks Juaquin and Ujamerstand, for the info. The Bantam/Millet Minimax combo is looking increasingly appealing to me. But what about the noodle DAC? I've read good things about it for the price, but was there ever a version made for USB compatibility? From a complete beginners...- Mystere9

Which schematics should I research?
Is it generally cheaper to get a kit(if it exists) than buying the parts individually? I would have thought that would drive the price up a bit, but I guess it's a good way to get all the parts in one place and make sure you don't miss anything? edit: is there any reason I'd choose a DAC/amp...- Mystere9

Which schematics should I research?
I am so ashamed of myself. I've had a perfectly good pair of DT-150s sitting in my closet for months, because I haven't had enough money to get myself a DAC/Amp for them, and my MS-1s sounded better straight out of my laptop HP out. I'm finally starting to come into some money though, and I was...- Mystere9

Are people afraid to get involved, or just don't care??
The real question this should bring up is this: What do you do in your own life to make society a better place where this kind of thing doesn't happen? If the answer is 'rage on an internet forum about it, then forget it a few weeks later' then you've basically contributed to the problem as an...- Mystere9

Do you care about lyrics?
I've seen a few people implying that their enjoyment of music could be affected by depressing/upbeat/other lyrics, and it got me curious how universal that was. I'm not talking about tone or melody, just the concrete message conveyed by spoken words(Even an abstract sentence is more concrete... -

"Great" Albums you just don't "get"?
I suppose I don't have the right to talk as a younger person who doesn't listen to many of 'the greats' other than Radiohead, but: AC/DC - Back in Black Metallica - Black Album -
What is the most obscure album you own?
Based on number of views on youtube, probably Atomic Eyes - Sweet Life. The closest thing to them I can think of would be Creed. Wouldn't necessarily recommend, though it's decent music. -
What's your current driving/car album?
Love is Chemical's s/t Nothing revolutionary, but makes great road trip material, and fun to sing along with too. Since they are a local band, a link to sate the curious. Love is Chemicals on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads -

I don't want to go to the doctor's if I'm just paranoid, but I've been using peroxide, mineral oil, and water for days and nothing's come out.
