best DAP under $200?
i've been out of audio for a while but trying to find something for a friend. looking for a DAP, preferably one with expandable memory that can also do lossless. I would have recommended him a cowon J3 but i'm seeing that they are now discontinued. any recommendations? he doesn't have too...- bik2101

short 3.5mm 4-pole extension cable?
Looking for a short 3.5mm 4-pole extension cable. I need a short cable to hook up to my phone and clamp a ferrite core onto and then plug in my mic'ed iems. Any suggestions? or any recommendations on someone here I can ask to make me one? TIA- bik2101

DAC need with two separate controllable outputs
Just got in a pair of speakers and I now need a new usb DAC. Looking for a DAC that has two sets of outputs with separate volume control for each output. one is going to my headphone amp and the other is going to my speakers. my speakers take balanced 1/4 or XLR and my headphone amp takes RCA...- bik2101

yeah.. i wouldn't worry too muhc about not getting responses to emails. robert's just really busy i think. it took about a month and maybe 10 or so emails before i got a response back. but i think it'll be worth the wait.- bik2101

yeah.. i guess though a lot depends on how much storage you actually end up needing. i don't knoiw what the SQ is like on the zen, but i guess if you enjoyerd it before then all that really matters at the point is how much storage you actually need.- bik2101

used ipod 120GB can be had for about $110-140 + $65 for a Fiio E11 or maybe even less for a CMOY and the total would anywhere form $150-200, doesn't sound too bad... although i guess it is more than the zen option.- bik2101

well if you get an LOD, you will always have a fixed volume. another option, a better one,imo, could be to get an LOD and an amp- bik2101

the tubes can be swapped around. some have different sound characteristics than others. but there are also different types of tubes - power tubes and just regular (?) sound tubes (sorry not sure exactly how to refer to these).- bik2101
