    Static from bookshelf speaker tweeter

It wasn't that they couldn't fix it. They tested it and they couldn't find anything wrong with it apparently (whether or not they heard static, I don't know). I mean if there truly wasn't anything wrong with it then that means there's apparently dirty power in all the 5 or 6 households I have...

    Static from bookshelf speaker tweeter

Not to be demeaning, but I've tried that. Countless times. They all talk about it being something in my chain. It isn't. I'm talking about doing electrical work on the amp itself to fix it if it is indeed fixable e.g. replacing a capacitor or something.

    Static from bookshelf speaker tweeter

Haven't tried that yet (at this place. I did at my old house(s) and static remained. Static has remained through the past like 5 places I've moved). It has reverted back to it's original constant static rather than the pulsating static though. Any idea still on how to fix it?

    Static from bookshelf speaker tweeter

Has anyone had this before / does anyone know how to fix it? My speakers are the Swan M200 mkii's and it had static probably 10 months after buying it. I sent it in but they couldn't find what was wrong with it so I just lived with it since it wasn't too significant (though I wasted $40 for...

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

...but I believe the price at which they sold to dealers also increased. A few months ago I was offered to snag an HD650 at dealer pricing for $350 + shipping/tax (~$390) (i.e. the person wouldn't be making a profit from selling to me since he was a coworker*), but at the time, I didn't have money.

In the case of the HD650s though, they remained stagnant at $500 for like a year or two when before then they were below even $350.. I don't think that applies so much here. Just Sennheiser being Sennheiser.

Man already got the 650s for $400 almost a month ago. It seems like after I buy something, the prices begin to drop again.   Edit: Wow I may actually be able to return these. My drivers are mismatched enough that even though I have more hearing damage in my right ear than my left ear, the left...

Love em. Had em for like 3 years now. Looking to get a sub though since I do miss the lowest frequencies. I use them much more than my headphones actually since I generally don't like the feeling of something on my head.

Rate The Last Movie You Watched

It was more-so an eye-roll with regards to the religious aspects (and there are a lot), e.g. it takes the idea of someone being a religious extremist nearly to the extremes only to build up to the rather expected ending, where everything goes all corny.   I don't know about the cast. The...

Noah. 2/10. Terrible acting. Also way too religious for me, though I guess I pretty much knew that coming in.

Rank the Headphones that You Own.

For the most part,   1) HD650 2) HE-400 3) ES3X   Only added the HD650 since my last post.

Is Audiophile level sound an acquired taste?

What's up with all the necroing lately?   To add onto the thread anyways, it most definitely is, or at least it was for me. My school's ideology behind headphones is that they must have bass and isolation (or NC. Whichever. They believe noise isolation and noise cancellation are the same thing...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

After listening more, I'm starting to miss the sub-bass of the HE-400s. Bass is extremely light for me especially when compared to the 400s.

https://www.buysonic.com/deal-categories/audiophile/   AKG K712 for $300, HD650 for $350, Amperiors for $123. A shame I just bought my HD650s off of headphone.com (are they an authorized dealer by the way?) for $400.   Buysonic's parent company is apparently Sonic Electronix, which is indeed...

    hd 650 Spotify radio

Using my HE-400s, I can't tell any difference between 320CBR and 24-bit 44.1kHz FLAC, but I can when compared to 24-bit 96kHz FLAC. YMMV. Haven't bothered to test it with my HD650s yet though.

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I'm not one who believes in the cable hype either (as long as the cable isn't uber ****ty like a $1 eBay cable). Looking to test it if there's any place that offers a return policy akin to Amazon, otherwise I'd buy a cable for its build quality rather than its perceived sonic characteristics.  ...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I am not entirely sure what part you're actually referring to.   I actually just got the chills moment and ironically from a rather trancesteppy song (Seven Lions - Don't Leave), which I assumed my HE-400s would be much better at. Vocals just blend so well though even when the saw synths...

What "house sound" annoys you the most?

Grados. Too much treble. Ultrasones probably too but never tried them. HE-400s I just EQ down past 7kHz and it's perfect (of course asides from the mids I've come to realize).   Edit: Just realized this was necro'd.

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Just received them and running them out of a DragonFly > E9 currently and the only thing I can't get over is it's soundstage / imaging / maybe airyness (though I knew that coming in) is much worse (objectively) than the HE-400s with Alpha Pads. Mids definitely are to die for though and they're...

Gotta say the HD800s are also my favorite headphones with regards to looks. Paint / quality issues and the likes though.. not so much for a ~$1k~$1.5k headphone. HD700s too and they're oh so comfortable.

How many of you have found your endgame holy grail headphone?

Because I'm 18, I have no job, and I'm heading out to college so.. $2k is quite a bit for me haha.   Edit: None-the-less I hate paying interest and the fact that because of my age and the rather Beats / Skullcandy-infested school I grew up in and due to my location (SoCal) and lack of...

Alright thanks! I'll see if I can demo them whenever I get the money to actually purchase them.

How many of you have found your endgame holy grail headphone?

Just got the HD650s. My end game would be the sound of the HD650s with regards to it's mids and treble (I like either neutral or rolled off since I'm pretty sensitive to treble with regards to pain) coupled with the bass, soundstage, and imaging of the HE-400 if there was a headphone at this...
