Sony MDR-V6 (and family) Impressions Thread
Haven't been on head-fi in a long while because my interests have shifted largely towards, cycling, But I will give an update about my mdr-v6 headphones. They must have THOUSANDS of hours on them by now (I use them on average about 7 hours per day). They are about 2 and a half years old now, and...- lifeonbicycles

I would sure get them! Sad seing a pair of "history" being discontinued. A 28 year production run is pretty good, though!- lifeonbicycles

That might be a good thing- That is the cheapest I have ever seen a pair of 7506s go for. I might buy a pair of those myself!- lifeonbicycles

Sony MDR-V6 (and family) Impressions Thread
The lack of mids and highs probably means a bad cord. The previous owner must have really badly abused them. I wouldn't do this due to new ones being fairly cheap, but You could try rewiring them which is fairly easy. If that doesn't work, you can replace the drivers- At that point is starts...- lifeonbicycles

Confused how a DAC would work on a computer.
Quote: I was just about to buy it yesterday until I heard about Unicomp keyboards. Now I have to choose between the amp or the keyboard . I will probably decide once I get my new desk on sunday that is replacing my 19 year old Staples desk- That is called getting your moneys worth when it...- lifeonbicycles

Confused how a DAC would work on a computer.
Quote: do you know of any slightly higher end models under 120? I will probably be upgrading these headphones within the next 2 years. Quote: Yeah, The MDR-V6 is a great day to day headphone. Mine have well over 1,500 hours on them and are still going strong. I also checked...- lifeonbicycles

Confused how a DAC would work on a computer.
Pardon my confusion, I am only 15 and have been interested into high end audio for about a year now . I am split between getting a usb DAC or USB sound card. There are not many USB sound cards, But there are many USB DACs. Would a DAC act as a "sound card"? My idea is that there would be no...- lifeonbicycles

Quote: Yes, too expensive :( Quote: And that's where the problem comes in. The cheapest I can find it 174 bucks, And I also went to Best Buy and they were 330 (!!!). I was in disbelief, So I made sure they were not the higher and model they produce, And they weren't. I would get...- lifeonbicycles

Over Ear Headphones for High School
It looks kind of cheap :/ I also have never really favored logitech products, as everything I own from them is junk. Do you know any other good headphones from reputable brands such as Senheiser, Koss, etc?- lifeonbicycles

Over Ear Headphones for High School
I am heading into high school in about 2 weeks (Very excited) and I decided that I should splurge some money on a new pair of headphones. I will be using them in the classroom ( I am in a high level school with only 350 people, so the teachers are slack about using headphones while you work)...- lifeonbicycles

Any cyclists out there that have any recommendations for headphones?
I recently got a Galaxy s4 and I really liked the ear tips from the stock headphones, So I ripped those off, put those on my JVC xtreme xplosive earbuds (Got them for a gift, I would never buy them myself- Too much bass and lack of clarity), And then replaced the foam/cloth covering the drivers...- lifeonbicycles

Any cyclists out there that have any recommendations for headphones?
This is exactly when I am using them- On bike paths. I would NEVER wear headphones on the road where hearing is very important. By the way, Sorry everyone for not replying in this thread once. I completely forgot I had a head-fi account until yesterday- lifeonbicycles

Cleaning headphones with pledge?
I always clean my Sony MDR-V6 headphones with plain water and a paper towel, but I thought that pledge would be a good idea to clean them with. My headphones smell like....well...my head since they have been in constant use for almost a year. Would pledge damage the leather/pleather...- lifeonbicycles

Any cyclists out there that have any recommendations for headphones?
There are so many choices for in ear headphones but I have no idea what to choose. The audio quality doesn't matter that much because of the noise when biking. I need ones that stay in. I have been looking at Yurbuds and they seem like a good choice. Any recommendations?- lifeonbicycles
