Napping with Sony SA5000?
Frame flexes easily but should be sturdy enough. biggest issue with SA5K and sleeping is comfort. the adjustment rods protrude outwards, which means that you will only be able to sleep in one position - on your back. shouldn;t be a problem for you though. frankly i'd be more worried about...- zozo

HD650/Earmax - what next?
If you haven't already, I'd recommend a little tuberolling before all else. TONS of variety out there for those tubes in the EMP to suit the kinds of music you listen to. Some cheap, some not too cheap. Then, when you've determined what tubes sound best (and still aren't broke), you can upgrade...- zozo

Should I get TTVJ flats?

SONY MDR-XB700 HEADPHONES, any reviews?
If you happen to be a Sony Rewards member (free to sign up), the XB700 is this week's Deal of the Week at $66 (tax and shipping was about $9 more for my location). Not bad considering you are buying directly from Sony. I'd get a second pair for the office but I need more bass.- zozo

I have Sennheiser 595's, thinking of getting UE 5EB's for hiphop music

Suggest me the most bassIEST and punchIEST headphone ever please...
If sheer bass impact is what you are looking for, then for about half your budget give the Sennheiser HD-212 a try. It has more visceral bass than anything else I've owned over the years.- zozo

Grado RS-1 cable pinch
Just received back my GS1000 headphones from Grado Labs today. It had been sent in for a recable because the cable strands came apart at that pinched point you're talking about, so yes, it's possible.- zozo

What are the bassiest headphones out there.
For your budget, I recommend the Sennheiser HD-212. It has considerable bass impact and provides adequate noise cancelation as a bonus. One of the bassiest cans under $60 (can be found cheaper).- zozo

A new DA7.2x ?
Just received mines yesterday (paid for it on Aug 20th). Gotta say, build quality is VERY nice, but that remote takes it to a whole new level, considering the price! Have had less than 5 minutes of listening w/ it because I have a 2 quirks with the machine. The first, although negligible, is...- zozo

GS-1000s and pad swapping.
I use flats. To me, the bagels make the mids sound like they are scooped out. Vocals sound too thin for my tastes. But worst of all, alot of my favorite recordings (JPOP ) are highly sibiliant and the bagels don't make you forget it. Flats collapse the soundstage considerably, but to my ears...- zozo
