Jazz 2002: New Releases, Re-Issues, Up-Coming, etc. WARNING: Miles-free Zone

Jazz 2002: New Releases, Re-Issues, Up-Coming, etc. WARNING: Miles-free Zone
Holland is playing later this month at Vancouver Jazz. I was hoping to make it up to see him, but it isn't going to happen. The only albums I have featuring Chris Potter are the Hollands Quintet's Not for Nuthin' and Prime Directive. Any recommendations for other stuff he's done? greg. -
I'm a prospective iPodder with questions...
I actually prefer the sound of my iPod when coupled with a TA. In addition to the amp aspect, there are some jazz tracks I have a hard time listening to without a crossfeed - the channel separation is too distinct. I do agree that the amplification benefits are limited, though, and I often...- zend

Legendary PCDPs
Since we're on this topic... I've got a Sony D-66 that I bought some time around 1990. It claims to have "8 Times Oversampling and Dual D/A Converter System". Anyone have opinions or info on this unit? It still sounds good to me, but I don't know much about PCDPs from that era. Thanks...- zend

Nick Drake the 60's Rediscovered
VW used "Pink Moon" in a relatively recent commercial. I was so impressed with the song, that I tracked it down to Nick Drake, and picked up the album by the same name. What a find. "Pink Moon" is beautiful end to end. I should pick up his others... greg. -

ETY ER6 vs. ER4's?
Quote: Originally posted by Gluegun Zend, actually, you'll end up with a 50 ohm ER4, which is, supposedly, a compromise between the ER4P and ER4S, and which sounds better than both, especially with sources like the CT470 or CT570. According to fixup's site, the replacement cable is...- zend

ETY ER6 vs. ER4's?
Quote: Originally posted by wacomme It sounds like my best solution is to keep the ER6 for exercising and get the ER4P (with an S adapter) for home use. Does the fixup replacement cable eliminate radiophonics from the ER4's? And why do the ER4's have radiophonics, but the ER6 does...- zend

ETY ER6 vs. ER4's?
Quote: Originally posted by wacomme Thanks everyone for your input. Like Bruce said, I should order the ER4's from Headroom and try them out! Now do I order the P or S version? I keep reading that the S version has better highs, but then I read that fixup has an adapter that turns a P to...- zend

Anyone tried latest Treo and Classic MP3 jukeboxes?
Quote: Originally posted by fredpb Ended up getting the Treo 10. Very happy with it. Slow download speed with USB, but it takes much more time to rip than to transfer. I use dbPoweramp for conversion and ripping, and the Treo software for transfer. They can be done simultaneously, so you...- zend
