    simple question for you guys...

I am on and off this forum, I think it's a first class miracle that I remembered my pasport a min ago (chances were one out of 14 that I remembered it...). Question is if any of you guys have a so sulution to the problem of the pads or cushions of a sennheiser 600/650 model that actually feel...

CD player how long does it last?

I can sleep sound for a couple of years guys. It 'll still work... and my dog won't outlive my player. But I haven't heard any conclusions about deterioration soundwise. I'm thinking about the inside getting clogged with dirt or the laser needs cleaning or maybe oxidation of contacts. So regular...

CD player how long does it last?

I read a thread in the headphone forum about durability of headphones. It's a bit of an relief knowing that a good pair of cans can easily outlive my dog... but I'm still slightly worried over my Meridian 508 and my wallet. I would still prefer to see the CD player live the longest 'cause that...

    burn-in is incredibly real

Mentioning the Cardas Cable. I also had that cable (and sold it again) for my sennheiser 600 and felt that it needed burn in time. Cardas included a folder with a rather detailed explanation why the Cardas cables ara sensitive for burn in. Even shaking or moving a cable could result in a...

    burn-in is incredibly real

Disagree with all you guys except the originater of the thread. All components or cables I had so far needed burn in for approximately 20 hours each and after that still improvements in small increments could be heard. Even used cables need to get used to the synergy of the system as well. I can...

Recommendations for Best headphones on the market (new and old)

I would say price-performance-ratio for the Sennheiser-590 is one of the best on the market given their qualities and price. I wouldn't say they sound LESS then the 600 JUST DIFFERENT. They are more airy then the 600... softer pads... lighter in weight... cord on one side... and easier to drive...

2 headphones plugged in reduces soundquality??

Brown 911 has given the impression that his Sennheiser and Grado mix doesn't substanciale reduce soundquality on Perreaux... if it does at all. Doobooloo that lower impedance headphones are tricky. Maybe it is safe to conlude then that a Sennheiser combo (mine) with higher impedance does not...

2 headphones plugged in reduces soundquality??

I thought it would be nice to listen to my setup with two headphone outputs... With the Perreaux and the Melos I believe that is possible. But does the extra load of two headphones plugged in affect the soundquality in any way? I can imagine it does....

    Reterminating stock cable Sennheiser

Soldering burns the lacquer off... yes but it depends on the wattage and temperature off your soldering iron. Soldering irons for fine electronical work may not get hot enough to burn off the lacquer. So a lighter is probably a better means to do it.

1 feet interconnect worth $200 better than 3 feet interconnect worth $1800?

Hooking up to a Meridian 508.24. Should be up to the challenge... By the way... the cable is going to be an auction. I can probably get it far below the newprice. So no worries!

1 feet interconnect worth $200 better than 3 feet interconnect worth $1800?

Ebonyks... but that suggests that a cheap but well build cable with WBT connectors and good soldering can compare with any reference cable. So I must be making a mistake by upgrading my cable. I mean... there must be more to it. Right?

1 feet interconnect worth $200 better than 3 feet interconnect worth $1800?

Sounds reassuring. But can you clarify why lenght of the cable isn't such an issue for you. Is that just your opnion, different from person to person, or is there a plausible technical explanation that can take away my doubt at once? Because that's more reassuring.

1 feet interconnect worth $200 better than 3 feet interconnect worth $1800?

I had great replies earlier on a question. This one concerns a cable swap. Right now I own a Silver Audio Silver Bullet 4.0 ($225) interconnect and was planning to replace it with a more organic sounding cable (Stealth PGS, $1800 if bought new). The latter is supposed to be WAY better ofcourse...

wire hd600 cables directly to the drivers?

It cannot compete with the higher quality Cardas cable really... But the stockcable has a characteristic sound that I would not trade for a replacement. And who can sit comfortably in a chair with a heavy cord dangling from the earcups and "forget" that he's wearing headphones! So I gladly...
