How does the Gigabeat sound?
I just got an iRiver ih340, but I'm thinking of returning it and getting a Gigabeat instead. Only trouble is no one has them locally, so I can't try one out. There are a couple of things I'm concerned about: -Can I mount it as an HDD or do I have to use crappy software? -How does it sound...- twitch

Durability of PX-100's?
I'm shopping for a new portable after breaking my last pair of MX-400's (I got tired of replacing the foamies I was constantly losing anyways). I'm looking tath the PX-100's, but they seem a bit steep for what they are. Specifically, I'm afraid they'll break fairly easy like other thin...- twitch

Interference when using headphone jack on HK-3470
I recently picked up an HK 3470 receiver refurbed from HK direct. I have it paired with Axiom M3Ti's for speakers, and that's going decently. However, whenever I plug in my cans and have a source other than the tuner selected, I notice very faint intereference from FM. In fact, it's still...- twitch

Replacing my system - help me accomodate my cans
I was running with an Aiwa NSX-707 minisystem recently (embarassment, I know), which was a temporary substitute for a vintage Sony/JBL combo I was using that died. The left channel on the Aiwa went belly up the other day, so I figured it's finally time to step up to the entry level hifi plate...- twitch

How should I properly burn in a set of cans?
Specifically, the Sennheiser HD-280Pros. Does it matter what kind of music I use? I assume I'd want something with a full frequency range. How long should I burn them in for? Would I want them connected to a powered source, or a portable? Any set volume I should use? Should it be continual play...- twitch

How well would a Sony D-EJ1000 power a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 Pro's?
I'm looking at replacing my ailing, second/third hand D-EJ101 (missing AC adapter/remote, currently supplementing former MiniDisc recorder remote), with a D-EJ1000. I recently broke my pair of MDR-V600's, as well, and am considering replacing them with HD-280 Pro's. Would the D-EJ1000 be able to...- twitch

Grado SR-80 vs. Sennheiser 280Pro for portable?
Recent destruction of my MDR-V600's by a stray foot (they were laying on the floor) has prompted me to look for some new cans for mostly portable listening. I'm debating between the SR-80's and HD-280 Pro's. I'd like the bright sound of the Grado's, but because they're open-air I'm afraid of...- twitch
