Definitely agree completely there! I don't actually own a pair of Stax headphones but did try the SR-009 a while back. Life hasn't been the same since haha...

  Would you have em over any of the other brands on the list though? I probably wouldn't!     Yeah, Shure takes top spot in the Time article but Audeze is #1 in the Headfonic article though I was disappointed with Stax missing out!

Did anyone manage to check out the second list and compare it to the one made by Time?

I completely agree with you there but there are so many "proper" headphones which are miles better looking than brands like Beats!    I guess the common mentality is that if my favorite Basketball player wears these headphones, I need to buy the same pair...pretty pathetic if you ask me!

Hi Guys,   Just wanting to hear your thoughts on celebrity-endorsed/fashion headphones which cost so much but offer very little in terms of quality!   A few months ago, I came across a list made by Time Magazine where they ranked Beats and Skullcandy towards the bottom of their best brands...

Pretty much every electronic product is a risk when buying from eBay...to be honest any branded product is a risk! I've got no idea how they make headphones so perfectly though...   But yeah, over £100 is still a reasonable price!

I think the value the HD 598s provide is unreal especially now considering that the price has dropped a bit!   By far my favorite headphones on the go!

Haha, fair point!   IEMs that do both things are too expensive so may need to start saving up now...

Really wanna get myself a pair of Audeze headphones and realistically EL-8s are the only chance I got and even that's on the borderline.   Time to start saving I guess...

Will definitely look into Hifimans! everyone seems to love em and going by some reviews on here, they definitely seem like a bargain.

I love the DJ100 but might try out the 200s next considering they're so cheap. Do you reckon the sound quality is slightly better on the DJ200s?

Guys, what about the HD598s? How's the bass on them?   I've heard lots of great things about them but never tried em myself....

Yeah I get you!    I think spending just over 100 bucks isn't too bad for really good quality IEMs like the ones made by Etymotic. Personally I feel like I'm sacrificing build quality if I go lower.   Do you guys know any reasonably priced IEMs that impressed you?

I think Westone ES5s are a good shout but sooo expensive!   Other than that, I'm a big fan of Ety ER4/hf5 depending on how much you wanna spend...

I personally love the Ety hf5 for normal use.   The isolation and sound quality is awesome but not sure what your definition of low cost is?
