Fir Audio Thread - Discussion and Impressions
I am looking to make a pair of Fir CIEM, likely either a Kr5 or a Xe6. I listen to quite a bit of vocals, would the Kr5 be a better option here? Welcome suggestions.- TheSoloist

The New Enleum AMP-23R Amplifier (Successor to Bakoon AMP-13R) Thread
I can confirm there are noticeable clicks when changing the gain depend on your listening environment. For me, I use it in a quasi near-field environment so it's surely audible. My DAC also serves as a digital preamp, I use that to adjust the level.- TheSoloist

I agree. I am eyeing on the Sonnet Pasithea, not quite small as the Bakoon/Enleum but still relatively compact for what it offers.- TheSoloist

Soo In said before they are developing a 65W and a 100W amp. Should be one of them.- TheSoloist

Yes I do, and I absolutely love them. IMO they sound better when you put in more power. I tried listening at late night at lower volume, it didn't show it's full potential, everything sounded a bit more clumsy and lack transparency (but by no means they sound bad, just that they perform better...- TheSoloist

I bought my 13R quite some time ago, it was a smooth process sorting things out with Soo In, never have a blackout period or what not. Suggest you sending an email to them to see what went wrong.- TheSoloist

Sonnet Digital Audio: New kid on the block, well.. not really!
The internal looks pretty neat. Noted that one of the slot has an additional module installed, is that the i2s module?- TheSoloist

If it were a 220v unit I will grab it without hesitation. Still hunting for one of those- TheSoloist

Agree. I try to keep an open-mind with accessories to try to get every bit of juice from my system but my bank account tells me I should be more selective and go for the ones with larger impact first, especially when I am have not reached my "end game" for the key components.- TheSoloist

Interesting comparison between different fuses. I have not tried fuse-rolling for my 13R (actually this is never been an area of interest for me) despite there are quite a lot of positive review of audiophile fuses out there (maybe not so much on this forum). I won't deny that fuse could make a...- TheSoloist

In the world of HiFi, it's not uncommon you see manufacturers try to over-engineering their products. Large and think cases with a lot of empty spaces inside the chassis. Those products may look like a more complex from the outside but does not necessarily sound good. On the other hand, I quite...- TheSoloist

I think the price increase does make it a bit less competitive but not necessarily overpriced. The Bakoon 13R was $6000 back then (if I remember correctly), the Enleum 23R, which many claims is an improved version of the 13R, is now more or less back to the price level of its predecessor. As...- TheSoloist

Definitely, the bass is one thing that surprises the most when I first listen to them. Another thing that impresses me the most is the versatility. My first encounter to this speaker is in an audition in a properly acoustic-treated room, it sounded very good for sure. My listening room is far...- TheSoloist

Soundkaos' Vox3 is indeed a very good pair of speakers, don't look down on it's compact size, it packs a punch. I am using a pair of Vox 3a with the Bakoon 13R and I have no complaint. Feel free to reach out to Martin, a very nice guy to deal with.- TheSoloist

I have the Bakoon 13R and desperately want to pair it with the Pasithea, sadly it seems like there is no clear timeline as to when Pasithea will be more readily available. Curious if anyone who is closer to Cees may have more concrete info on this to be shared?- TheSoloist
