Is there a way to tune sound in windows to your hearing?

I just found a setting called Adapt Sound on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I was a bit skeptical because it said it would "increase sound quality". The way is works is that you wear your headphones and it plays quiet beeping sounds at various frequencies, one at a time. If you can hear it, you...

What headphones are best for me?

I am looking for a pair of headphones no more than $150 and hopefully around 100. I'm somewhat new to headphones; I've never owned hi-fi headphones and right now I only have a pair of UE4000's, but I do want headphones with good sound. I'm looking to step up to a mid-level pair of headphones...

Looking for headphones to use for music listening and gaming.

Also, a removable cable is a must. I know I'll end up pulling the cable and having to replace it eventually.

Question about the E-MU 0202 USB DAC

I have an old E-MU 0202 DAC that I use for my computer. It goes up to 24-bit/192khz. I didn't buy this DAC, it was given to me by a family member who no longer needed it. Right now, I'm not incredibly knowledgeable about DACs, and since this device is fairly old, I can't find much information...

Looking for headphones to use for music listening and gaming.

I could deal with a seperate mic. And since they will mostly be for home use, open-back headphones would probably be the better option.

Looking for headphones to use for music listening and gaming.

I'm looking for an inexpensive (less than $200) pair of headphones to replace my logitech UE4000s. I do care about sound quality, but I don't have the money or equipment for a pair of Hi-Fi headphones. The headphones have to have good sound quality for the price. I also need one with a...

Update: Sony MDR-7506, Sennheiser HD518, Sennheiser HD-280, Creative Aurvana Live! headphones fit my budget. How would those work?

What would be a good pair of headphones for this purpose?

I'm looking for a pair of headphones I can use for both gaming and music listening. Also, I don't have a lot of money to spend, so my budget is below 100$. Anyways, one thing that is important is that I want to be able to be able to hear my surroundings, so noise cancelling is something I don't...

    Sample Rate Conversion..

I just have a quick question. I know that upconverting sample rates can reduce in a loss of quality. But do you lose sound quality if you convert down? For example, if I had a CD with a rate of 48 KHz, (rare, I know) would I lose quality if I ripped the CD at 44.1 KHz?

    UE4000 Amp/Dac?

First of all: I wouldn't consider myself as an audiophile due to a lack of inventory, but I can judge good sound. not beats by dre :)   I know it's not the most high-end headphone, but with the DAC and amp that I have, along with playing CD's, on Windows 8 using iTunes, it sounds pretty darn...
