Best starter Headphones/AMP/DAC?
I hope its okay if I jump in here. I believe the Hifiman, Yulong and Audinst are wall powered. I've not used them but was interested. The OP mentioned "portable" but I don't know if that means USB powered or just small enough to carry. I have just received a Maverick Audio D1, and while it...- tgrisham

Maverick Audio DAC/Amp
Stereophile magazine measured the jitter of the digital output of the Apple Express at 258 ps and the analog output at 2400 ps in their May 8, 2005 issue. Jitter can be measured in many ways, some deceiving, however 258 ps is a respectable figure for a $99 device using an optical digital signal.- tgrisham

Has anoyone heard of "Vivid Technologies" V1 amp? Help before I purchase!
I have owned it for two weeks. I have tried to burn it in almost constantly for these two weeks. My Senn HD600s work very well with it. Nice deep bass, mellow midrange, articulate highs which may get to be too much for long listening. A great bargain. Does it compare to my home tube amp? No. But...- tgrisham

Thanks a million!
I appreciate all who contribute to this site. I tried a Beresford desktop amp but sent it back and went portable. I purchased a Vivid V1 based on the comments here and it is a remarkable amp with my Senn HD 600s. It is tiny, rechargeable from USB, and works well with the Senns-full-bodied...- tgrisham

Beresford TC-7520 DAC
Its too bad a guy can't just ask a simple question around here. But, I'll try. I have 15 days to evaluate the 7520. I want to have something that is just for the laptop. My other systems serve my needs. I am looking for a simple one box with USB DAC and headphone amp built-in and less than...- tgrisham

Beresford TC-7520 DAC
I am not sure I understand you, LingLing. I have read all the stuff here about Beresford and really don't want to get into that. I am just asking if he likes his unit. I do not work for Beresford and have no affiliation with him. I'm just a guy who lives in rural missouri. If you don't want me...- tgrisham

Beresford TC-7520 DAC
I received my unit today, June 25th. Right out of the box it is a great sounding piece. It is not to be confused with an expensive dedicated headphone amp, but it sounds very good already. It is a bargain for 250 USD. I am using Senn 600s and a Cardas cable. Folks here have found that it sounds...- tgrisham

Little Dot MK 2 II vs ASL MG HEAD OTL MK III
First, thanks to everyone who contributes to this site. I am interested in second headphone amp. I have the ASL MG HEAD OTL MK II for my Senn 600s. It is very nice, polite, good bass and non-fatiguing. Sources include vinyl and either a Ah Tjoeb 4000 with upsampler or Jolida 100A/PS Audio DAC...- tgrisham

WooAudio 6 Review
First, let me thank all of you for your contributions to this site. I have read and enjoyed many posts but have not had much to contribute. I hope to in the future. I have been seriously considering one of the Woo headphone amps, specifically the 3 or the 6, or even the 2 if I can come up with...- tgrisham
