Ah, Mrk, we have the same taste. I had the HD598 for 2 years and then loads of mid fi, dt 990, dt 880, mmx 300, aurvana live. Got the x1 day before yesterday and this is probably the happiest ive been with a headphone. Spent all day listening to the music, rather than the headphones! ...

I used HD598 for years and would say the X1 are 598 + 30% but nothing overwhelming. Honestly blown away by these. New favourite can. Seem to pair with Dolby HP really sweet too.

Arrived this morning and been rocking them all day! Blown away.    Trying to Source a V-Moda Boompro in the uk is proving fruitless tho.

They were my first pair of closed cans I used alot (gaming) and it got out of hand not hearing my 6month old or the wife, so they had to go.

I got the X1 today and have a large head, no issues so far. Had the Beyer mmx 300 and that was fine, 990 pro was a bit clampy but stretched them over a box over night, was fine then.

Arrived today, had an hour, these cans are 100% me. In love.   Flac -> Aune se -> Fidelio X1 or Flac -> Aune se -> Marantz PM4400 - Fidelio X1 if i feel it a bit warmer.

Just ordered a pair for £151, cannot wait!

Really tempted, just scouting about to make sure I aint missing anything!
