I used HD598 for years and would say the X1 are 598 + 30% but nothing overwhelming. Honestly blown away by these. New favourite can. Seem to pair with Dolby HP really sweet too.

Arrived this morning and been rocking them all day! Blown away.    Trying to Source a V-Moda Boompro in the uk is proving fruitless tho.

They were my first pair of closed cans I used alot (gaming) and it got out of hand not hearing my 6month old or the wife, so they had to go.

I got the X1 today and have a large head, no issues so far. Had the Beyer mmx 300 and that was fine, 990 pro was a bit clampy but stretched them over a box over night, was fine then.

Arrived today, had an hour, these cans are 100% me. In love.   Flac -> Aune se -> Fidelio X1 or Flac -> Aune se -> Marantz PM4400 - Fidelio X1 if i feel it a bit warmer.

Just ordered a pair for £151, cannot wait!

Really tempted, just scouting about to make sure I aint missing anything!

Well for its uses I had no complaints. The dual Cardoid on the MMX is a bit clearer, but the one On the dt 990 was as good as any headset ive used before.   Regarding the sound, I was expecting some bass beast after reading all the dt 770 reviews, but was pleasantly surprised how neutral it is.

After a sting of Sennheisers, I picked up some dt990 pro 250ohm. Did a recable and tiny xlr mod. Then modded to a headset.   Stumbled across a refurbished MMX300 on ebay and won them for £72. Sold the 990 and now on the look for some 880 to try:)    

Been running a 4db boost at 40-60hz and trying with additional eq settings mentioned to tame the treble peak and I am further blown away by these for the money.   Unreal :)
