Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

First three months or so I also had the disorientation from using IEM's. Mainly when there was no music playing, or quiet parts I'd get a little dizzy. I can't remember the last time I felt that way. Been using SE535's for two years now. FWIW, I use the triple flange silicone sleeves trimmed...

SE530/535 Acoustic Filter Mod: More SQ improvement than cables? Dampers!

A minute dab of white glue along the sides of the bore & filter should keep them in while still being removable. My old pair of 535's had quite a loose fit with the filters, whereas my new pair is a very very snug fit.

AKG K550s broke and AKG wants to replace them with K545s, now what?

Contact AKG directly (or did you do this??). There's no reason they should be trying to 'downgrade' you if they're within the warranty period. Also, you don't exactly explain what happened to your K550's...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

I'm using the triple flange silicones trimmed down to the third flange, I don't remove the third flange. Superbly comfortable and no hassle to insert.

Just order a set of the white Knowles dampers that way if the stock ones get destroyed in the process you can still get the stock sound. No bravery needed imo.   I'm currently using the grey dampers which brightens the SE535's up a bit without disturbing the bass. Brown dampers are a bit muddy...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Definitely don't need a tube amp to get a lush sound. I can attest to that, and my setup isn't that great. I'm running an RME Babyface (22chn 24/192khz recording inteface) into a Presonus HP4 ($100 4 channel headphone amp) and honestly, and I am completely happy. The only time I feel like...

Idk why I can't edit on tapatalk... Personally any more punch to the Se535 and I'd be getting headaches. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

I don't bother with eq but IIRC, bass "punch" is between 60-120hz so you might want to fiddle around with those frequencies Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

They don't really need an amp because they're so sensitive, but a good dac really opens them up. Through my RME Babyface they are mindblowing, but still sound wonderful from my nexus 5

The problem with IEMs is that you don't get the tactile response of bass notes that cans and speakers give. The SE535 certainly aren't lacking in bass though. Try the triple flange sleeves but cut the stem just behind the biggest flange and insert deeply. You can pull up on your ear with your...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Not all of the songs have painful piano passages, but there are some notes that really hit hard. This screen cap was taken at a point that was very irritating. It's worse playing through my Mackie MR5MK2's

    [REVIEW] Shure SE215

SE215's are great. I bought a pair for my sister and mom. The only thing I don't like about them vs my SE535 is I notice the transition from a low note to a high note isn't smooth. It's almost like there is no sound for a very quick moment. I'm not quite sure how to explain it. It's like they...

I just use one of those binder paper clip things as a hook for my 650's hahah :)     Quote:   I checked out this album today and I'm blown away by her voice. Absolutely amazing. I don't find the piano painful to listen to but I've only listened to a few songs.   edit: yup definitely...
