[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM

Got my ER0 today. Have to say, nice and balanced. I listened them in a library for few hours while studying. The sound doesn't stress ears with orchestral nor metal recordings, and that's great for background listening. This is mainly because ER0 doesn't have powerful bass or loud highs...

    Yuin PK1-PK2 impressions thread

I ordered PK3's as a birthday present. I tested them a bit (I have the PK1's so you can imagine my interest). I got cold chills when I first time used them out of meizu M6 with After Forever: Withering Time. I was stunned. I was thinking can this be. PK3's sounded full and detailed rivaling...

Pictures of Your Portable Rig [Part X]

I don't use the amp if I use my E4's (in noisy environments only), I just EQ highs. PK1's on the other hand benefit a lot. I didn't notice this first as I used low gain. I chanced it to high gain/low current and now its pretty good. Current doesn't seem to matter much, though I might do some...

Volume Level Settings for Cowon D2 "Line Out"

    iriver H320 line-out confusion

I tested my friends iriver h320 from line-out with Move and PK1's. The volume of the player effects the volume coming from the Move and I wonder the reason for this. Also, sound from line-out with Move seems to sound the same as if I would use HP-out without Move, maybe even worse. Any...

Old Move's DAC isn't so good?

Quote: The DAC on the Move is not bad. I enjoy listening from it in the office. It is not as good as the iPod line-out What iPod are you using? As I have undestood that 5g/6g are different but neither is clear winner. Too bad there are none other players with FLAC support to rival 6G...

Old Move's DAC isn't so good?

I just found out that old portable CD player like this: Amazon.com: Sony DEJ615 Portable CD Player: Electronics sounds to my ears a bit better than If I would play FLAC's out of my computer with Move's amp and DAC. Do your Move sound better with line-out of portable mp3 player than out of...

    Portable CD players' line-out

Quote: I'm saying Portable CDP must be worser than HDD\Flash based player because reading cds on the go is not a good thing. I assume you mean SQ as in the previous post and why is that? Quote: Also, PCDP's are not good because disc inserting system is awkward(on all of them)...

    Portable CD players' line-out

I made a happy discovery today when I found that a portable CD player that my mom uses has a easy access line-out (with mini-mini cable). Most mp3 players seem to have compulsory Dock access. Does that reduce SQ? Amazon.com: Sony DEJ615 Portable CD Player: Electronics I have meizu M6 and...

    Resistance/Impedance modifying cables

I like E4's more straight out of my Meizu M6 headphone out than out of my laptop + Move (with/without the attentuator). I find the bass overpowered with Move. Maybe that's because I have used to PK1's (grado SR60's sound muddy too). How many ppl think that amplifying E4's make them sound better?
